Come on Davey, give us a team for us to get behind against Liverpool. I hope it will be something like this:

Howard
Hibbert, Yobo, Distin, Baines
Pienaar, Heitinga, Rodwell (if fit), Bilyaletdinov
Cahill, Jo....

Back in January, the three derby games were such a highlight of another season of falling short. It's difficult to see the bragging rights mean so much this weekend from both sides as the three points alone mean more than rivalry, but this could be the turning point of the season. If it isn’t, the season ends here.

Mid-table will be nice, but surging up to 6th or 5th is on the cards should we be victorious. The crowd need to play their part, so come on Moyes, deliver a team with purpose!

This would be a huge win. To beat Liverpool wouldn’t just get us 3 points, it would give the players confidence. We have looked disinterested and even afraid the past couple weeks.

Howard
Neill, Yobo, Distin, Baines
Pienaar, Heitinga, Rodwell, Bily
Cahill, Saha

I’ve got to say that I’m a bit nervous about tomorrow’s game. I don’t know what team is going to turn up, I’ve picked my 11 but is there any leadership in there? If things aren’t going to plan is there anyone that you can honestly say will drive the others forward?.... Cahill maybe....Howard will shout, but the only comfort I’ve got is that the RS look shocking. I’d like to see the following starting line up:

Howard
Heitinga, Yobo, Distin, Baines
Pienaar, Fellaini, Rodwell, Cahill, Bily
Saha
I’d be tempted to chuck Neill in at centre-half for Distin but can’t see it happening.

Whatever 11 come on to the pitch in blue will be getting 100% from me.

Sorry but I struggle to see how that’s a daring team?! Rodwell and Johnny in the middle, no Felli? If Felli can’t step up and get the better of Lucas then I think the lad's short-term future needs to be considered and try and develop out the limelight somehow.

I’d also be tempted to stuck Neill in at CB as well because Joey and Distin are looking shite, short of confidence and not the level of player they genuinely are. I know dropping one of them wouldn’t necessarily fill them with confidence but they need a boot up the arse! As one of our longest serving players Yobo should be showing leadership skills.

Whatever he does, he’s got to play Cahill behind Saha (if fit) or the Yak, if he does with Bily and Peanuts back we have a chance because this lot of redshite is one of the worst in years.

100% behind the lads, but they need to contribute to the days atmosphere with a high level of obvious desire and commitment. This is chance to get things rolling before it gets too late.

Personally, I would go for this team and give Rodwell a break:

Howard
Neill Yobo Distin Baines
Heitinga
Pienaar Cahill Fellaini Bily
Saha.

This’ll be a doddle, all we have to do is . . Explain to Howard that shots outside the box still count as goals so he must try to keep them out too

When Lucas Neil plays right back we invariably concede three, he couldn’t stop a Kangaroo crossing the Arctic, get him out of there, put him on the right side of Midfield with simple instructions : get your own crosses in and let nobody passed.

Yobo N Distin are decent defenders, when focused, but they have the combined attention span of a gold fish . . .hypnotise the fuckers.

Tell Baines he is allowed to miss out the first man when crossing.

Explain to Fellaini the difference between a lighthouse and a midfield player

Get it through Cahills head that once he’s on a yellow, he really has to stop kicking RS . . . . you might wanna tell Heitinger that too

Play Pienaar in the middle of the park, our confidence, the occasion and my fucken sanity depend on us starting to keep possession of the football.

As Billy walks towards the tunnel Whisper the word "Enjoy" in his ear - in Russian of course.

Pray The King is fit . Cut out the idiotic "the baby’s not your’s" song - it makes us all look pricks - enjoy the game and lets roar our boys to victory

Dave Wilson, great post, almost as funny as Bullards goal celebration yesterday.
I would also like to see us keep some possession and with Pienaar and Bily back we can , Moyes just needs to tell them, "when we have the ball, they can’t score" and "dont concede possession by hoofing it forward . try passing instead" finally "when they have the ball, the most important thing is to get it back". Fuck me i should be a manager !

If Saha and Rodwell are passed fit I’d like to see:

Howard
Hibbert Yobo Distin Baines
Rodwell
Fellaini
Billy Pienaar
Cahill
Saha

With Billy and Pienaar working as proper wide players almost like wingers, we play better with one up front and this gives us support without having to force upon two strikers.
Rodwell as anchorman and Fellaini as that ball winning midfielder with cahill running box to box

However if rodders and saha are not fit:

Howard
Hibbert Yobo Distin Baines
Gosling
Fellaini
Billy Osman
Pienaar
Cahill

I dont care what anyone says, I do not want Jo starting in an Everton shirt again. I would rather stick cahill up front with pienaar supporting in the middle. And again this time Billy and Osman as attacking minded wide players

2-1 to the Blues

I am not happy with his bleating in the paper today. Cut the crying Davey, part the reason we are in t he mess we are in is your fault.

Unbalanced squad and negative tactics and the people outside of Goodison seem to think you are too good for us, well you are not. Have some balls and prove the hype today and go for it.

Sorry to disagree Tony but your suggested team doesnt begin to rectify the current problems, those being a porous defence and non creating midfield.

For me, two musts in our team — Yobo / Distin partnership must be disbanded — I would keep Yobo and play Heitinga CB. Also Pienaar must play centre midfield.

I would also bring Hibbert back and try and get some balance to the midfield - maybe Jo left mid / Billy right.

My team :-

Howard
Hibbert Yobo Heitinga Baines
Billy Rodwell Pienaar Jo
Fellaini or Cahill
Saha

That's all asuming injuries dont play a part in selection of course!

I’m feeling a mixture of dread and complete indifference for this game - dread, because I badly want to see us get a result today. But indifference, because it probably won’t happen and a result either way won’t define either sides season.

My hearts going for a 1-1 draw, although my head tells me it’ll be a 3-0 beating. We DO have a chance if the likes of Cahill and Pienaar turn up.

The problem we’ll have is that due to the over-hype, Cahill, Fellaini, Heitinga will be so wound up that we’ll no doubt loose one of them to a sending off. You watch.

Once it happens we’ll revert to a total defensive set up hoping either to keep 0:0 or not to concede if we are already behind.

You can tell I’m not expecting too much today particularly if Torres and Gerrard both play.

Having read Moyes’s pre-match comments about the players and confidence and stuff, I can’t help but be, still, amazed at how fucking stupid he is.

For a swan song, because after today’s debacle I fully expect him to resign, why can’t he do something positive, angry even, a la Ferguson, goad the redshite, big up his own players, anything for fuck's sake to cling on to and achieve something meaningful.

At present he appears to need a long rest and plenty of therapy. If this continues after today he should be taken out and shot — It maybe the only way to get rid of him.

We lack creative midfielders
(recently played with NONE)

Would like to see Pienaar or Billy play in a more central role but we need someone on the wing

Pienaar Billy Osman - (excluding Arteta)

451 with the creative trio interchanging and cahill supporting striker

Howard
Neil Yobo Distin Baines
Pienaar Osman Fellaini Billy
Cahill Saha

I’m afraid I am not holding out much hope for this one.

Is it just me, or does it seem that no matter how shite the shite are, we are always that bit shiteier? Look at the woeful run they have been on this season and we still manage to be five points adrift of them! I know we have our injuries etc, but it always seems to me we never take advantage of their poor form.

Sorry if I am painting a gloomy picture, but I can’t see us scoring today and if we concede fewer than 3, I will consider it not too bad a day.

Jo ahead of Yakubu or Saha?
I can see the sense in that he does pull defenders out of place and will make runs between the centre backs and left back an so allow Cahill and Fellaini to attack the box...oh fuck it, no matter how hard i try i cant convince myself that he is ahead of Yakubu in particular in a million years.
