Everton Players Saints? ...or nobody cares?
Comments (9)
John 'I cheat on my wife' Terry is sacked as England Captain.
Rio 'I was banned for 8 months after missing a drugs test' Ferdinand replaces him.
Steven 'I fight in pubs if you don't play my music' Gerard is moved up to Vice Captain.
Ashley 'I got drunk, cheated on my wife and threw up on her while doing it' Cole is disappointed not to have been considered.
This news got me thinking. How come you never hear about an Everton player misbehaving?
You very rarely hear about an Everton player causing trouble. In fact Rooney shagging an OAP prostitute and Jose Baxter getting arrested for counterfeiting money are the only times I can remember under Moyes. And they were both young players at the time not senior pros.
Why do you never hear about the likes of Cahill, Neville, Baines, Osman, Hibbert, Jagielka, Arteta, Yobo, Fellaini or Pienaar etc.. getting into trouble?
I can think of 3 reasons for this.
1. They are decent guys hand picked by Moyes because of their character.
2. The manager is very controlling and doesn't allow his players to get out of hand.
2. They actually are drinking, fighting and cheating on their wives but the press just cant be bothered to report on Everton players.
Are Everton players a higher standard of character? Is Moyes keeping them on the straight and narrow? Or are they just like all the rest but getting away with it because the press ignore most things Everton?

The more I here about John Terry the more I cringe. He’s reportedly on £170k a week yet still reportedly in debt having extended the mortgage on his £2.75m house 4 times recently, reportedly hiring out his club Wembley box at £4000 a pop despite it being against the rules to raise cash and his serial skirt chasing and attempted pay offs. I remember reading the reports on the recent jailing of that Wigan player and him bragging of who he was and how much he earned before assaulting a woman in a club. Fortunately, our players appear above this. I’m not claiming they are angels as no one is but they don’t drag the club’s name into the shit like others in the twisted knowledge money will bail them out; Creasehead’s defence for twatting some bloke on the way to the floor was that he feared he was about to be attacked my arse.
On a lighter note, seeing their behaviour does make me a slightly prouder blue. I think we have quite a few players who conduct themselves brilliantly. I think we have a very dignified club at the moment.
Anyway, COYB, play the reds off the park today!
Wasn’t our Vic arrested for the henus crime of being black and looking into a jewellers at night, with some other black people who wore balaklavas? Sorry, hoodies?
Terrible behavior!
I have a West Ham supporting friend ad he found it so very difficult to warm to the players when they had the likes of Bellamy, Dier and a few others.
So yup, I love that our players are decent chaps.
And, if Jags is fit, take him instead of Terry.
I would love to see Jags go - it would make up for the cup final he never got to win. If he'd been there we would have won!!
Baines is better than Bridge, in fact Lescott is better than Bridge.
But this just underlines the snobbery against clubs such us and Villa because Osman or Baines should have had a call up by now. (I know people will slate the Osman reference but his form in 2004/05 when he was young was deserving of a call up)
Terry,Cole,Gerrard,Rooney. Are their any more despicable specimens playing sport ?
As to England ... fuck them. Just an excuse for fascists from Chesterfield and Grimsby to believe there’s something great and glorious in their lives

And, yes, I think Moyes’s insistence on only keeping the right character of player around is a large part of it. I would hope that if/when we become a top-four media darling that we don’t start attracting that kind of attention.
