Welcome back Jags (in squad for Lisbon)
Comments (17)
Jags has been included in the 22 to travel to Lisbon.
Senderos also travels which gives me great relief as we were looking a touch sort a centre half for this one.
Anyway welcome back Jags just in time for our unlikely assault on 4th place!

I’d rather play with a couple of kids at the back tomorrow night than risk Jags. But then I’ve not seen him in training the last few weeks. I’m sure that Mr Moyes knows best
Yeah I agree don’t risk Jagielka for no reason. I would rather go out of the Europa League then risk Jagielka being out for the rest of the season.
Give Duffy a run out maybe?
I dont think he will play, but it is such good news to hear he’s in a squad, to have Mikel and now Jags back is a real boost.
I would Imagine Yobo and Senderos will play with Johnny H cup tied and Distin suspended. This is a big game, dont forget the Europa is our only chance at some tin this season and after dispatching City, Utd, Chelsea nearly doing Arsenal at their place why shouldnt we think we have a good shot at winning the thing. With that in mind I would not be tempted to play Duffy although I do rate that lad from what little Ive seen.
Jags Im sure will be emergency cover and it will probably give the lads a boost to see one of the best players in and around the squad.
We're told Rodwell could well be a centre-half as he gets older. It would be a great chance to give him a go there. His confidence will be sky high as well.
I’d play Pip and Coleman at RB.
@Gareth - Agree, was about to propose just that: Pip at CB and Coleman at RB.
An unnamed BBC journo is talking about Capello taking The Jag to South Africa, and The Guardian podcast yesterday had him considering Rodwell.
Words, words, words, of course. Interesting, but a bit worrying.
Moyes will goo with experience to keep it tight.Always risky of course because if we don’t score and they get on late then it could be curtains.Ideally we want to get our own away goal early if possible then we are could be sitting pretty.Any draw or a 2-3 defeat gets us through but obviously another win is what we want. The team has shown it has the character of late and if they can remain disciplined in a hostile environment they have an excellent chance. Sporting are fast on the break but will have to play a different game tomorrow. Lets.have another great show from the midfielders to keep as much pressure off our back four as possible.
Good shout Garreth, don’t risk Jags put Duffy on the bench.
I’m fairly certain that Moysie will not start with Jags.
We will sit patiently to fend them off - get a breakaway goal to deflate them - then (hopefully) a 2nd one to kill them off. If that is the scenario in reality, then with 10 minutes to go, Jags will appear as a morale booster, along with another defender to hold on.
There’s no reason for Jags to be there from the start.

Yobo and Senderos. Jags is surely just there in case of an emergency.
Bit disturbing if have to play Jags. Big chance for Senderos! If I was him I’d be climbing from my sickbed over dead bodies to get the chance to play.
Also at some point Rodwell must get a chance at CB. But it misses the point, if we play to our potential we should beat them. We should go all out for a goal and we should try and keep the ball. If we go for a draw we will never keep the ball because there will be no space. If we attack we will get the chance to play football.
I predict a draw 1-1 although I would dearly love to see us keep a clean sheet. Cahill is a big loss we could do with his attitude and danger from set pieces. Let’s also pray for a decent referee.

No I do not think he will play unless we have a disaster between now and kick off.
The point is he is back in the squad and that means he is obviously training well and for my money that means he is almost ready to rumble! Which is cracking news.
Bloody shame about felli or we would be pretty well at full strength for the run in with lots of fresh players. Still glass half full and all that...

hmmmmm http://evertonfc.com/news/archive/no-hesitation-over-jagielka.html
Barring Senderos knackering his back in the warm up and Yobo not getting out of Schiphol, Jags’ll be on the bench and if we’re cruising, he’ll be on for a run out for the last 15.
I think Moyes would stick Neville at CB rather than risk Jags, so if Jags starts I think it’s fair to say that there’s little risk.....
Definitely would try to avoid Neviile at CB and Duffy at RB for this type of game. They’ve got some good, creative players, even if they’re not on good form at the moment and at their place it’ll be a tough game and we need to be solid at the back above all.
I’d be very happy to see us take the game to them a la ManU and Chelsea, but I have a feeling that we’ll make harder work of this. Hope I’m wrong!
Its interesting Moyes throws his injured players back right away when Benitez hasnt done the same with Aquilani and he still uses excuses he isnt fit enough to start now for months after his first appearance, when in reality he bought a bag of shite for an excessive amount of dosh. At least Moyes dumped Kroldrup immediately as soon as he realised he had bought a load of crap.
