A Good Win In Chile

Comments (4)

Everton defeated sixth-placed Union San Felipe 3-0 at the Sausalito stadium in Vina del Mar to move out of the automatic relegation places, temporarily at least.

They leapfrogged Nublense who play at home tonight (Sunday) against third-placed Universidad de Concepcion.

Everton triumphed with goals from Yakubulo, Beckfordista and Saha... Just checking you're awake. No, the first goal came just before half-time from 22-year-old Argentine defender Maximiliano Cerrato.

Seven minutes into the second half, 23-year-old Uruguayan Nicolas Freitas extended the lead. Then on 63 minutes, 23-year old Chilean Gabriel Carcamo made it 3-0 and four games undefeated.

Another "great escape" in the history of Everton! (Perhaps!)

I think we need Hanns Sagers playing for the opposition... In fact he dosen't live too far from me, in the posh side of town, not sure how he got all that money for such a big house, but forever grateful for his bad day at the office all those years ago!

Mike, thanks for the updates. Travelled in Chile a few years ago, bumped into a fellow Everton fan by chance once and we wanted to get to see a game there, but unfortunately there wasn't one coming up.

Looks like they're just out of the relegation zone on goal difference after today's game, so fingers crossed!

1) Just shows what a new coaching face can do to revitalise a team... are you listening Kenwright and Moyes?

2) Glad something's going right for Everton.

Just to update: Nublense drew 2-2 on Sunday which means CD Everton are 3rd off bottom, out of the automatic relegation places on goal difference and 1 point off 4th bottom.
