He'd be fucking mad ... and wasted he's a Celt and Scot ? why would he want that job?

Sounds cack to me.

Mike, do you know how much Capello earns? £6 million a year, allegedly. How many games does he take charge of? ? say 10/12. Why would anyone not want that job?!?

How would he play Tim Cahill?

Hope its true... it's they only way of getting rid of him, as BK loves him. But that will take too long. Maybe if we ever get a new owner he'd get the sack. Wishful thinking on my part.

Ha! As if! Moyes is a proud Scot and has already came out and said he wouldn't take the job. There are some things more important than money.

He wouldn't want to work with the egos and pricks who play for England either. Then again, if he did there would be no twats like Lampard, Gerrard or Terry or any of the Man City mercenaries.

I'd be more worried about two more likely scenarios - Lennon gone from Celtic if they dont get their act together quickly this season, and Redknapp to the England job and Spurs looking to replace....they have a chairman that knows how to hang onto their best players.

It's Friday, so I thought I'd put the first response to #2 before anyone else does and save them the trouble .........

Tricky one on Redknapp. Its his first big club and has them fighting up the top of the table which he never had during the rest of his career as manager.
Then again, an England job would be a serious position, the ultimate position for him, and would give him more time to spend with his family... and Louise. Most definitely Louise.

Tel: "It looks very defensive-minded, and a tad negative, John."

As I have said previously I don't think DM would work with Daniel Levy. Levy is a "my way or the highway" kind of guy and Moyes has enjoyed a lot of decision-making that at Spurs would be much further up the food chain. I would have a punt at Ancelotti or O'Neill being the next Spurs manager and Moyes to Celtic for the 11-12 season. I think Lennon will be sacked and a caretaker put in place until Moyes is ready.

I would love to see TFB Wayne Rooney's face when that appointment is announced. It won't happen, though. Moyes is a Scot and would no more take the England job than Ferguson.

I cannot see Moyes being asked to be England manager given he's Scottish. Think there will be a clamou to have an English manager after so many years without one.

Also cannot see Spurs wanting Moyes as their manager let alone Moyes having the chance to turn down the offer. He's far too defensive for them and the fans will be up in arms in no time as he falls out with all their strikers and flair players.

Can you seriously picture VdV playing under Moyes and being asked to chase back all the time?
Chris Bannantyne
15   Posted 07/10/2011 at 17:52:44

I have heard Moyes speak about his future before. He always maintains that he isn't looking beyond Everton at the moment, but he would love to manage Scotland one day.

Who really knows when it comes to ridiculous money though?

Also, whilst Moyes appears to be very defensive-minded, I imagine with the quality of forwards available at Spurs and for England you would see him using them a bit.

I don't usually defend Moyes a lot, but I think that he sets the field at Everton the way he does because, for whatever reason, he doesn't rate the other options. Whether he's right or wrong is another matter, but I just couldn't see him benching Adebayor, Defoe and Pavlyochenko only to play Kranjcar (or whoever) up front on his own..

Moyes for England. It's good in so many ways. In my wish list it would be second to winning the lottery.I can see them at Windsor Park, 4-6-0 against Northern Ireland.

Tim Cahill - already been a Samoan and an Aussie, and ways would no doubt be found for him to be an Anglishman if needs be.

Hibbert and Osman would play at least as well as the shite that play for the national team, as would Jags and Baines. But Moyes for England? Whoever thought of that one didn't ask him.

Replace one idiot with another?
After today's England game I wouldn't be surprised. How can you gave an attacker sent off with a one goal lead and then replace him with another attacker instead of a defender to help shore an already shaky midfield.
How can any manager pick the likes of Barry,Walcott and Lampard. The tackling was poor and the marking even worse in the second half even before the red card.
Walcott always starts off good but quickly fades. Cole no longer has the speed or attacking qualities he used to have nor does Lampard.
In 2 games they couldn't beat Montenegro so forget about progressing next Summer. Spain are light years ahead. Capello offers nothing new just like Moyes at Everton he goes through the motions and picks up a nice paycheck.

I just don't believe I read that. You are complaining because Capello didn't make a negative substitution when the 0.02% brigade have been complaining all season about Moyes being too negative! It's a funny old game alright!

Moyes as England manager!.... Alf Ramsay just turned in his grave!

Sorry to cheek you Tony but Alf's headstone says Ramsey.

As for you guys celebrating the idea of getting rid of Moyes, what a bunch of unrealistic whingers you are. OK if he goes tomorrow life will go on and might get better, but he's done an outstanding job in improving us from bottom half certainties to Euro contenders.

OK I know, don't bother telling me - this is Toffeeweb and you'd prefer relegation to Moyes.

But the post is worth it for Tony #3.

Haha brilliant, it just sums up some of the people that come on here. They think they know better than Capello, one of the most successfull managers in the game. Moyes is moned at for being too defensive and Capello for being too attacking. But it just goes to show, no matter how good the manager is and how good his players are it still doesnt garaunte success.Take note 0.02%

Wow, seriously!

I used to respect you but come on, I worry about your sanity!

Capello!

I'm Irish and I'll admit it, I love it when England lose. Capello is the English Souness to me.

So, if you regard Capello as a great manager I just can't take your pro-Moyes posts seriously :)

(I still respect you mate)

Well, first time I've been called a racist, put it next to the rednose, kopite accusations I've had to go through. Christ, i'm almost a demon at these stages.

Yep, I support Ireland, and yep, I don't support England. But when I see gross mis management I talk about it. And when I see a constant supporter of Moyes tactics support an English manager who with the entire power of the EPL drew 2-2 with Monterego...I question his belief in football management.

Sorry for being a racist, but being a blue there is no other colour.

28   Posted 10/10/2011 at 00:12:16

Kevin I?m English and i love to see England and the mercenaries get beat as well. Any foreign manager who takes over a national team for money rather than for the honour and pride of carrying out his duty for his country by managing his national side deserve nothing. But seriously you can not ignore his achievements in the game. The point I am making is that we could have SAF, Mouriniho, Capello or any other top manager come to Everton and they would be criticised on here because they would struggle just as much as Moyes with no money and with the rich teams taking their best players. But Capello has the top players and supposedly the tactical know how to win us a trophy, but I cant see it happening.

29   Posted 10/10/2011 at 00:31:27

Ian @28

I agree with Capello's predigree. He is a talented manager. He works better bringing in players to work with rather than a set squad. That's the thing with an international manager, you work with what you have at your disposal.

"The point I am making is that we could have SAF, Mouriniho, Capello or any other top manager come to Everton and they would be criticised on here because they would struggle just as much as Moyes with no money"

This I really disagree with..seriously! We have a great squad. If any of those managers came here we would be top4 Moyes has great players, he just doesn't know how to play them!

And thank you for not calling me a racist, this weekend has been hard enough with the abuse I've got, I appreciate that

Have to dissagree, on paper there are at least 6 teams that have better individual players than us.

32   Posted 10/10/2011 at 02:18:56

Ian,

you've gone about individual players but with those coaches in place we would be a force to be reckoned with.

6 teams above us, you rate our squad that lowly?
Derek Thomas
33   Posted 10/10/2011 at 02:49:27

Again such accuracy from Mr Tunstead and ilk with their flog a catch phrase to death 0.02% bollocks.

The sooner it joins Bart Simpson's "I didn't do it" in catch phrase heaven the better.

Michael Kenrick; Sir, can we have this banned along with calling poeple closet kopites??
Ian Tunstead
34   Posted 10/10/2011 at 05:49:12

Haha Derek get a grip or get a sense of humour. According to people on here i'm an 'apologist' who gives a toss? i dont go asking to get it banned.

Kevin i do rate our team that lowly. Hibbert, Osman, Anichebe are championship standard but Moyes some how has them competing in the Prem, Neville is the ultimate football player who has achieved great things with very little ability, he cant even pass a ball.

Moyes has built a team on having to buy Championship players and lower and make them compete. Lescott Jaggs Cahill Beckford all brought in from the lower leagues, Cahill Jaggs and Beckford in particular do not have great footballing ability but they have a particular attribute that makes them effective and Moyes trys to play them to their stregnths and usually with success. The whole is better than the sum of its parts, it is a real team rather than great individuals.

He has brought in failed players like Arteta and piennar and got the best out of them. As soon as these players go else where they usually do not go on to greater heights. Rooney and maybe Lescott the only exceptions i can think of off the top of my head. Not to mention the likes of Coleman Gueye Vellios and Gosling who have come from know where to play at the highest level. On paper who are these people? They didnt come with a big price tag and huge reputation but we are competing every season in the top half of the table. It should not be possible.

36   Posted 10/10/2011 at 09:18:24

Why do people get so het up about international football ?
The madia blame allsorts when England get beat but the bottom line is this.
The players are simply not good enough, no manager in the world will turn England,Ireland,Scotland,Northern Ireland or Wales into winners because the players are 2nd rate.
The likes of Lampard,Gerrard,Terry,Cole etal are hyped to fuck because they play in the EPL.
Bottom line is they are not world class players and none of the home nations will ever be world class teams.

Ian (28) - "we could have SAF, Mouriniho, Capello or any other top manager come to Everton and they would be criticised on here because they would struggle just as much as Moyes with no money".

Thank you. Managers are so over-rated. You have the players to win or you don't. How would Ferguson et al have done better with Blackpool last season than Holloway? Or this season?

On the other front, this American was surprised to see the Italian Grandpa chosen over an Englishman to manage the National team. Really, there is not one man in England to manage the team as well as Capello?
Roman Sidey
39   Posted 11/10/2011 at 03:07:11

If Moyes got the England job, it would be considered and "achievement" just to qualify for Euro.

If Moyes got the Tottenham job, the rest of the clubs in England (Everton included) would be stoked because he would quarter the value of their squad, and increase their need to sell ten-fold.
Ian Tunstead
40   Posted 11/10/2011 at 12:31:17

Roman, that's funny because, since Moyes arrived at Everton, the average age has decreased and the value of his side has increased.

The majority of his players he has sold on to other clubs have sometimes been for 4 or 5 times what he paid for them. You can mention Yakubu and the likes but overall and compared to most managers he has been more successful at increasing a player and teams value, and without having the added benefit of advertising them in the CL which usually increases a players value exponentially.

James Flynn, in all honesty the English managers are awful, just look at Steve McClaren. Look at how many manage in the Prem and how many have actually won a trophy. It's sad to say but that scumbag Redknapp is probably the best we have.
Phil Martin
41   Posted 11/10/2011 at 12:46:36

...and if Moyes went who would the Great Bill Kenwright turn to next?

Ian Holloway, Phil Brown, Owen Coyle, ?

It will be 'arrys job anyway. He's well in with 'the boys'. Will probably have "Lamps" and "JT" lap-dancing for him at half-time.
