David Moyes is ready to make a second bid to bring Tottenham's Steven Pienaar back to Merseyside.

The 29-year-old left Goodison Park last January in a £3.2m deal. However, he has struggled to make an impact in Harry Redknapp's side after suffering a groin injury at the start of the season.
Moyes failed to secure his former star's services on loan in the summer, but is understood to be preparing a second bid for the player.
However, having still not seen him in extended first-team action, the Spurs boss is expected to once again reject any loan offers for the midfielder.

wierdly enough I've just been onto the Spurs website as I'm watching them and Pienaar isn't involved, and he hasn't played a game this season. Then I log on here with news that Moyes wants to re-sign him. Frankly I don't think it's a good idea-an attacking midfielder that doesn't score enough goals

I'd have him back no problem. Works hard, creates chances and would definitely be better than Billy or Osman. Its not like we have loads of money so beggars can't be choosers.

If McFadden can return then its a no brainer for Pienaar. At least the left side will be secured again.
As usual it will come down to what we can afford.

Would be great to have him back as he seemed to bring out the best in Baines., As said above, he was/is better than Billy or Osman on the left. Could put Drenthe on the right.
Still cannot see Spurs letting him come back just 12 months after leaving - also would he want to come back?

I'd love him back. Let's get one thing straight though,he didn't leave us for the money - he joined a team in the Champions League,a team that will possibly finish in the top 4. Same with Arteta. You can go all the way back to Rooney. Even Lescott - ok,they were a work in progress,but look at Lescott now - FA Cup winner,Champions League,and he might even win the league this year.
The reason these lads left was to join clubs with 1 major thing that we don't have - ambition. Unless we get rid of this board and get some investment,we might as well start waving goodbye to Rodwell,Fellaini,Barkley etc.
Oppose stagnation,support the team - it's our only chance.

Pienaar should have stayed. However, Moyes always bangs on about how the grass isn't always greener, referring to Lescott- how wrong could he have been about that!

An absolute no brainer, take him back in a heartbeat. Without him and Arteta (yes I know last season Mikel was poor) we just dont look the same. Him and Baines were great to watch, yes he should score more goals but that can be labelled at almost every player we have! I assume any possible move would be on a loan basis with us not paying all his wages.
Can we also have Rooney, Arteta and Lescott back please?

I for one was never his biggest fan and I know we're skint and short of numbers etc etc but why take back a player who strung us along for 18 months who has been injured for the most part of 2011??

Er Sean, maybe because we have got no-one anywhere near as good as him to play left midfield. That is unless you think the useless Osman or the pathetic Billy are better than him and if you do you're not watching the same games as me...

Rooney was wallowing in a poor side with a lot of much older players... he had his head turned when he went on International duty. The other players must have been saying "Why are you playing for a team going nowhere? You can play at any club you want and WIN things."

I'd rather stick with players who look like they've got a bit of end product in them like Drenthe and Gueye.

Piennar will surely now realise that he clicked with and needed Baines/Arteta, and that he should never have taken this for granted. They were great together, and even Baines hasnt been the same since.
Id have him back in a flash. Hopefully Baines has been texting him!

Our free kick count will definitely go up if he comes back.
Also we will have a player who will know how to hold the ball up.

I dont want the pieman just another mercenary footballer let him rot in the reserves at spurs. wayne rooney look what he has achieved and why would anyone deny him those medals he is a fantastic footballer if nothing else. until we can compete with the money bags clubs the only thing we can do is follow our team and give them our loyal support. Just got back from White Hart Lane stadium tour. [I went with a Spurs supporting friend who had a spare ticket!]
Very noticable was the complete lack of evidence of peanut in the clubs shop despite every other player having some sort of memento to buy. Is he still there? I asked one of the guides about this rumour who said that Peanut was only frustrated through injury and had told the Guardian recently how this was his dream move!

How could you not?? I'd be out of Everton so fast it would make your head spin. Who wants to play for this manager and play for a team that has 0% chance of winning anything? I know I wouldn't. Until new ownership comes on board and we make a real honest-to-goodness go , I'd take Champions League every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
