Everton are supposedly interested in taking Arsenal forward Marouane Chamakh on loan in January.

Indeed when watching Arse its noticeable in a good team how little this bloke does.

I wouldnt say the same for Fellaini though.

Tony, I am better than Victor Anichebe and James McFadden. How these two 'characters' have made it as Premiership footballers is beyond me.

I like the look of him. He can finish and has a good touch. Moyes could get him to work hard. Arsenal are not exactly the most hard working team in the PL. On loan, he would represent a value for money short term solution.

But I doubt anything will come of this.

Rob how is Fellaini lazy when he covers more ground than any Everton player? You only have to look at the last game against Man Utd which showed Rooney and Fellaini dominated most of the stats, including most distance covered and most sprints.

Ian,

Covering ground like a zombie is hardly the same as covering ground effectively...By the very nature of their box to box position, Fellaini type players need to cover the most ground. That hardly means he's doing it effectively. A lot of the time he'll move towards the ball but fail to close the player down (a la Marcus Bent)...

I'm not saying that he's lazy - but I don't think his coverage of the grass is in any way effective.

As for Chamakh - I think he's a very talented player..much like Eduardo and Vela - hasn't got the game time and has suffered because of it. Knows where the net is, and has a very good touch. If it's a loan then it's a no brainer for me..

I always thought Bendtner was a far better player than Chamakh but Wenger much like Moyes is making some weird decisions these days. Fortunately for Wenger he has a lot more money to spen than Moyes but still I beleive Wenger's best days are gone.
I don't think Chamakh would be any better than Becks. or Yaks. We need speed and strength and we have neither up front or midfield.

I wouldn't worry. If we sign him on loan Marouane Chamakh will sit on the bench watching for three months until he learns how to play "The Moyes Way" and another month of so of 15 minute sub appearances until his first and only start. Maybe Stracqualursi will get a game by then.

No wonder we cant keep a clean sheet. To raise money I would sell him in January.

He brings nothing to the team offensively or defensively.

Do you want us to get relegated? Fellaini is without a doubt the 20million pound player in our team, Baines being the other, or remotely around that mark.

He's a constant second ball winner, yeah he still misses a lot and needs the guidance of someone who will teach him to ply his trade properly.

David, isn't that the problem with Fellaini? He isn't the finished article. He's clumsy in the tackle and gives away too many free kicks among other glaring flaws. To say he needs someone "who will teach him to ply his trade" is surely an indictment of a supposedly 20M pound player. If I offered you the services of a lawyer or doctor and told you he was really expensive, and just "needs someone to teach him to ply his trade" you would tell me I was crazy. Get me one who already knows! We aren't running a school for midfielders who still haven't mastered the basic arts. Defenses - and referees for that matter - are wise to Fellaini.

Both talented players, both accused of being lazy. Perhaps more a case of both not being developed properly.

Fellaini definitely covers a lot of ground, but seems to spend a lot of that a few metres behind a player he's chasing. Surely he'd be better off covering less ground and using that energy for getting into the right positions more often. That points to poor coaching. Without a doubt Fellaini is extremely difficult to tackle and controls poor balls out from our defence relatively easily.

Chamakh is a very skilful player and quick, but as soft as butter. He needs to spend some time in the gym. I'm sure he could score goals, and would probably have a great working relationship with Saha (as they'd share the same beautician). But I can't see Moyes ever selecting him.
