Everton have supposedly expressed an interest in taking Manchester United's Federico Macheda on loan after Sir Alex Ferguson's comments regarding the Italian's future.

Ferguson said of a potential loan deal ?Loan deals work well for all the young players in terms of getting game-time and that's what we're looking at with Macheda and Diouf. They need games, They're young and every young player wants to play and we have to give them that opportunity.?

I watched Macheda play against Palace midweek and he was SHIT!!!

So no wonder the Mancs don't want to pay his wages!!!

Mark, it was only his second game all season in all competitions, and a little bit unfair judging him on a freak game where United lose a match.

Why would you play Macheda ahead of Velios? If young players need game time then surely we should be using our own.

With Bruce gone from the Makems, Fergie's going to need another outlet to offload his cast-offs. It could be worse, we might be linked with Gibson. If Moyes is looking for new blood, he could do a lot worse than taking a £3m punt on Palace's RB Clyne.

Macheda scored a couple of important goals at the back end of the season 2yrs ago. went out on loan in Italy last year and hardly set the place alight. Hes no better than Velios. In fact from what Ive seen Velios is the better player so why waste time and money on someone who will never make the grade at Old Trafford and in a couple of years time will probably be back at some 2nd rate Italian side??
Yes we need some new blood and that includes a striker who will score goals. Macheda is not the answer to our problem

To be honest I'm not really a fan of the loan market from other premier league teams especially youngsters. Players like Arteta, Donavon and Drenthe are good deals as the club are looking to take them on full time if successful.

Loaning young players well your just helping to develop other teams kids like Wigan and Sunderland did with Cleverly and Wellbeck. Both of them teams are struggling now and Sunderland clearly need a goal scorer.

Everton should first give Velios a go before loaning some other youngster. Anichebe will also be back around Xmas time so that leaves us Saha, Cahill, Velios and Anichebe to get us to the end of the season. Unless we can sign someone from abroad say a strong powerful striker from Germany,Holland or france bit like Demba Ba I'd leave alone.

I agree with Ian #7, the loan market is awful and in our clubs case is used to just reduce the wage bill. The players we take on loan are a fraction of the number we loan out and our squad is weaker because of it.

No better than we already have, at best a boost to numbers with minimal financial outlay.

Not bad; will only cost some wages... and there is always the risk that Saha will blow out his knee caps taking a dump.

He went to Italy and scores 1 goal in 16. Yeah brilliant... then again, that is a better ratio than Victor's.

Wonderfully put Daniel!! I thought Moyes had money to spend in January? If he hopes to get Donovan on loan then surely any money he has will go on a striker? Macheda is not the answer. Sadly i think we are going to be in a relegation scrap this year and frankly a teenager with limited experience in a struggling side will not help. We need proven experience, end of. If additional players have to be sold to raise further funds so be it.
