Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga have reportedly started negotiations with Everton over a move for out-of-favour Russian international, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

The Germans apparently value Bily at around £5m but Everton are looking for closer to £7m.

If he goes, and Drenthe doesn't sign long term that leaves us with Gueye and Osman on the left... Coleman and Osman on the right. Yikers!

Shift him, he's had three years or so and doesn't look like the premiership, in a grafting team at least, is the place for him.

Sell him for 6m, give drenthe a good signing on fee and put the rest towards a decent striker.

Play him behind Saha v Swansea he must offer more than Cahill at the moment.

If we get a good offer sell him and sign a winger with pace.

I don't understand why he didn't take more corners.

When he first came he manager to get quite a number of assists then Arteta started his mission to give defenders brain damage by twatting the ball at the first mans head all the time.

We should use the money to sign Drenthe (even though Drenthe is a free) and any remaining funds to sign a striker or midfielder.

Take what you can and get shut. Not up to playing in a pacy,combative league such as the EPL. The lad is a bag of nerves every time he plays.

Would do ok playing in a hot country. If he wants a lift to Wolfsburg just let me know; i am happy to personally drive him there.

In a 4-5-1 I would have him in the team ahead of that guy who used to be Tim Cahill, but I can't see it happening anytime soon, so get rid at any price.

Bily just cannot cut it with the pace, power and demand of the EPL. Coupled with being played out of position and no apparent desire / appetite to try to compete there is no other option than to cut our losses. With oceans of space and time available Bily undoubtedly has the technical ability as demonstrated in a number of the wonder strikes that he has unleashed, for me though his defining moment will be one of a little boy lost out on the left wing summed up in his performance against Reading in the FA Cup at home.

Where are some of you getting this 6m figure from? We paid about 8 or 9m for him when he was 'potentially' good, so what sort of idiot is going to bid 6m, in january, in a recession, for a distinctly average player? I can see it being 2m with the board happy to offload his wages at the same time but even that seems excessive for what I have seen him do.

John, I agree totally. Is this fee of 5 - 7m what they pay us, or what we pay them to come fetch him? Does it cover the plane ticket?

Joking aside, I really would have liked Bily to succeed, I dont think anyone has ever questioned his attitude and he always seems willing to try - hes just not settled, recieved a decent run of games or been given a real position.

Of course, knowing us, he'll go and do a Diego Forlan and be playing in Madrid in 2 years in his 'real' position.

Shold have sold him in summer 2010 when it was clear the manager didnt rate him.

Better late than never, I just hope the club are not so stupid to price him out of the market when there (presumably) are not that many interested parties.

Do the deal quickly so we can move on and use the cash/freed wages to sign Drenthe up and any other players who's contracts are up in 6 months time, on the cheap.
