Everton are ready to move for AEK Athens star Kostas Manolas, skysports.com claims. Everton are supposedly lining up a deal for Manolas - but they are not alone in checking on the highly-rated young stopper.

Hah! Go Alex. Ridiculing Moyes is wrong, regardless of what people think of his current ability (which is no more than a dip). He has been brilliant for the club, especially considering the crap appointed in charge of most other clubs bar Fergie, Morinho, Wegner, Huddink, Ancelotti.

Kostas Manolos is a sturdy centre back and one of the players of the season for AEK Athens. He's not yet 21. He has a 5Million sell-on clause in his contract - not cheap when you're flat broke - and as AEK are unlikely to want to let him go we will have to meet that figure. It's puzzling when you consider our most urgent need is for a front man, not a developing defender. Perhaps it reveals more about Moyes priorities than about Everton's.

Kostas Manolas is a young greek defender, he plays best as centre back. While talented and smart he is error prone. He needs to develop his positioning, strength and speed in order to play at the Premier League. Many have doubts about his character as he has created many problems at his current team. He would propably be avaliable for £500k-600k. His current club AEK Athens have got serious problems to pay the contracts of their players and their personel and really need cash.

I suspect you can guess the answer - they didn't fit in with the anti-Moyes editorial stance...

Instead posts which show no respect are left for others to titter at. It's funny, because I'd expect to see our manager referred to as Gollum on a Liverpool web site. Then again, I'm not entirely surprised they're here, to be honest.

Apparently Distin is leaving in January and the Greek kid is coming in to replace him. Something about rebuilding the team for the future.

Steve 17 - All our centre halves look unable to keep a clean sheet, so if a decent/good bid came in I would look to get a decent young defender in.

Not sure if Distin signed his new deal, perhaps we have a problem.

Ian@19 - I agree that calling someone "Gollum" could technically be construed as insulting although more in a schoolboy way than sinister.Humorous ? Well yes it is and I'm sure the muliti-millionaire DM wouldn't be that hurt by it

Oh dear Ian... its seems as if the "gollum" remark was the straw that broke the camel's back. To be fair that response has been coming from you for a long time. My advice is lighten up. David Moyes wont be loosing any sleep over what people say on a fansite, so please stop scouring through every thread and leaping to his defence any time somebody critisises him because its obviously hurting you on a personal level. Its the season of goodwill mate, chill out...Moyes doesnt give a flying fuck what us fans think, neither should you. Opinions are opinions.

Ian when you say that about "someone who has done his best to serve the club for over 10 years" are you including Bill Kenwright in that category? Because there have been some very insulting things said about him in these columns too. This is what these sites are about, the ability to what you wish about who you wish and be agreed with or otherwise on the merits of the argument. To object to someone being called Gollum and then call people "cunts" and "cowards" seems, to say the least, inconsistent.

Ian, three to four years ago, when Moyes was God, I got much more stick on this site than you have ever had, for suggesting that he wasn't.. To be fair, your post seems out of character, you seem to me to be a reasonable guy, I think... perhaps, like Cahill, you need a rest.

Whatever the score today, the starting line up was typical Moyes: negative, unimaginative, safety-first, abysmal shite.
