The Mail suggests Everton are still "leading the chase" to rescue Steven Pienaar from the doldrums of White Hart Lane next month, with Niko Kranjcar also potentially available.

Why not? At least we'd know the left hand side would be far more secure than it is now. Plus he can give us a bit more creativity in the middle and God knows we need it !
And then of course money is no object cos the Chairman said the banks didn't need all that money we got in more or less from when we sold Pienaar.
Mind you a few contributors on here have said the squad is strong enough this season and there's no reason to strengthen until next close season!!?? Won't mention names, could just lump them together under the heading "In a World of Their Own".

The squad needs strengthening, but I am not sure Pienaar is the answer.
I can't believe his head would be right, coming back to Everton after essentially not making the grade at Spurs, plus he is not match-fit and would take time to get up to speed, so as a short-term solution I can't see the value in it!
Loved him as a player when he was here, but this is one of those where the old adage of never going back applies, for me.

God yer ! I've missed his partnership with Baines, It was almost telepathic at times. And for a slight chap without blistering pace, he very rarely gave the ball away cheaply, unlike Ossie - unfortunately.

I'd have him back in a second, unfortunatley he's probably too good for our team now. Pace, work rate, technique, and passing accuracy, something woefully lacking from all of our midfield this entire season. He used to perform better cameos in the centre of midfield than any of our current starting crop can. Class player, and its only now him and Arteta are gone that you realise how good they both were and how depressingly average, boring, and mediocre we re without him. I look forward to that bright future of Rodwell and Fellaini passing it endlessly sideways and backwards to each other.

Breaking news is that Pienaar is off to the Bundaslegia (Dortmund) for £4mil in January pending a fitness test. Good business for Spurs, doubling their money.
I wonder if Moyes has the balls to dump Saha and Cahill in the window and bring in another striker or two... and perhaps Harry will come in for Neville?!?

I think maybe it is time the FA changed the rules and maybe brought in say 4 points for a win if you score more than 3 goals. It is not just Everton who line up with 5 in midfield and just destroy football, most do it outside of the top 5, and it's got that way. I just don't wont to go anymore; it's just boring.

No, we were told the banks didn't need the Arteta money. They did all the rest.
But am not confident we'd even get all the Arteta dosh. Though about £8 m should get us a decent striker.

Robero £8M for a striker dream on, brace yourself to be told the Arteta cash has gone on wages for Fellaini and Donovan and whatever other loan deal we get in and no doubt Moyes shall be throwing the lies in too to cover his beloved Chairman.
