Onuoha linked once again

It wouldn't be a transfer window without Everton being linked with Nedum Onuoha and this time it's The Independent reporting that David Moyes wants to finally land the 25 year-old in a £4m deal.

Onuoha made a rare appearance for City against Wigan last night with Moyes looking on, but it remains to be seen if the Blues can get anywhere near even that modest evaluation of the player given the lack of funds available at Goodison Park.

i like onuhua, think hes a really good player that would do well for us. A striker is surely more pressing though, because when we finally get everyone back to fitness we will have about 10 defenders on our books!

Why arent we taking a chance on the lad Maynard at Bristol City, or lining up Jordan Rhodes for the summer? There are some really good lads in the lower leagues, and i am quite sure that all of them could give more to the cause than 'King Louis'!

I just heard on the radio that Moyes was at the DW to run the rule over Hugo Rodegella who is out of contract in the summer & apparently could be available for as little as £2.5 Million!

Decent player, would do the job, but the highest priority is not in defence.

I could have understand it if we sold Jags for over £12m and used a few millions to get this younger lad in, that would be refreshing the team. But to get him as a replacement for injured Jags? We don't have that kind of money to throw around.

You have to understand that Moyes is a negative manager who always sets out a defensive formation. How many time has he set up a 4-5-1 plan only for it to backfire as soon as we concede first.
Onuoha is a decent sort and with constant injuries to Distin and Jags he has to bring in support.
The defence hasn't been too bad this season but we have doged a lot of bullets.
However, I agree the offence needs improvement but that will never be Moyes's priority. He made that clear when he let natural poachers (Yaks and Becks) go for a song and very rarely starts Velios and Straqualursi.

I think we ma get him on loan.

This suits us because we won't have to pay his entire wages, and we won't be comitted to buying him until we know we are getting a suitable replacement for Jags/Jonny (either of whom I could see being moved on in the summer).

It suits him because he knows he will play in our team at the moment and without having to take a huge pay-cut, that he would have to take for a permanent move.

As soon as I heard DM was at the DW, I thought he'll be looking at Rodallega. Makes far more sense than going for Onuoha.
