Everton are ready to move for Portugal U-23 international Eder according to the Daily Mail.

Both David Moyes and Steve Round have watched the 6 ft 2 in striker and, with the Guinea-Bissau-born player out of contract this summer, he would fit the Blues' limited budget.

Tottenham and Porto have been tracking the 23-year-old and he was close to joining Palermo earlier according to the report.

The one complication is that Academica only own 45% of the player's registration. The rest belongs to his former clubs Ademia and Tourizense.

I think the Olympic Tourney is for Under-23's with the option of adding I 3 overage players.

Apparently when they went to finalize the deal, Eder didn't even show up. Ridiculous if this is true.

Was hoping it was Eder from the Brazil squad from the 82 World Cup - he may be in his 50s, but he'd be an improvement :)

An Everton scout has been looking at a 24 year old Vietnamese striker and have sent vidoes of the guy to the club.

Doesn't sound like an academy prospect at that age but as he's never played for the Vietnamese national team I'd guess it's unlikely he'll get a work permit.

This lad looks handy but only if Moyes changes a habit of a lifetime and plays 2 up front. He is not a goal scorer though.
