Have to agree when he wants to play he is class but I would imagine his head will be turned with Arsenal a likely destination for him. As well as Lazy he's clearly a thick twat for signing in November - there's not alot different about where we are now from then?? However, sell him for as much as possible and maybe his current contract will help with that.

When he resigned it was with the agreement that he could talk to other interested parties if anyone came in for him after 1 season.

Otherwise he could have walked on a free, which is something we couldn't risk a he is one of our top rated players money wise.

If the offer is good enough (min 10-12m) tehn get rid. If Chelsea are involved aim for 15m at least and free up 75k on the wage bill. Reinvest and get 3-4 players if poss,

If Moyes also (hopefully goes) thats another 65k a weekl freed up, althouhg a portion will need to go to the new manager.

Doesn't matter if he's lazy or not, I think the guy's wages make him too expensive to keep hold of! If he goes to a better tea, goo luck to him.

Phil if you mean the banks will take some,so what.The debt needs paying off and this is the best way to do it.Sell players in their prime,give the bank 25% of the fee received and use the other 75% to buy a replacement,hopefully on less wages as well.

I can understand his ambition, and hoped his signing of the new contract meant that he believed the club shared this, maybe he realises like the rest of us, that some out with old and in with the new is required urgently.

No, Paul, I'm not saying that we should be happy to see a man who has been a terrific player for Everton struggle. I think the blame should be placed where it lies. With the man who picks him. And who continues to pick him when all the world and his dog can see he knackered and in desperate need of a rest. Cahill has never hid, run himself into the ground and always tried his best when wearing a blue shirt. He's always talked the club up and been a great ambassador for us.
And every decent Everton fan should think about what some players have done for the club instead of getting on their back as soon as they can. Some of the rubbish I hear shouted from the braindead gobshites behind me in the Street End is worthy of our friends from across the park.

OK, Paul, a more considered response. You're right, I do rate Cahill highly, but not on his form for much of this season. He has, though, managed to raise his game since the arrival of Jelavic and to underline that statement I think I'm right in saying that the Toffeeweb poll the other week had him as the player most fans wanted as a partner for Jelavic.
Whatever you think of him, and you are clearly not his biggest fan, you have to admit that he always gives 100%, whether it's good enough is a moot point, but I repeat, Moyes picks him. Getting on his back is going to do what, exactly? Make him perform better? Tell you what, let's get a few dozen of the lads in your bedroom offering..er..advice.. in the thirty seconds you're performing and see how well YOU do.

I knew that was coming Ray thats why I got myself prepared,i'm sure Evertonians think he has scored more goals than he actually has because we've been a low scoring team it always seems like Cahill is constantly scoring winners.The fact is though that in 8 seasons(including this one) Cahill has scored on average less than 7 league goals a season.Not a bad record for a midfielder but its hardly Lampard or Gerrard.

True and no it's not nice, but..that's ALWAYS been the way of the (football) world.

Ray I have never question Cahill's commitment,I wish every player was like him in that respect,as for getting on his back,I do that on here not at the game (well only to myself not out loud).

As for the poll I think that was mis-leading because it asked who should play in the hole behind Jelavic yet most of the options were strikers and not suitable to that role.

All well and good Paul but this won't affect the REASON for the debt, which is gross mismanagement and visionless, witless leadership.

We sell Maestro Fellaini. That staves off the bank for another six months or a year but the overall debt will keep growing until we get a board of professionals in charge as opposed to the mixture of parasites fromother clubs and gentlemen amateurs that we now have.

Selling Maestro is a short term stop gap. It does not address the underlying issue.

Bit bemused by the slating of Felli here?!? He's our best player (not including Pienaar) by a long way! He covers loads of ground, breaks up opposition play, and is virtually impossible to shrug off the ball. Some people on here have a different view of the game from their seat to what I have!

If he was more composed in front of goal I'd say he's the most influential in the league and liken him to Toure.

That's the only aspect of his game mssing. On form, which he has been for most of this season, he's absolute class and dominates games seemingly alone.

I really don't understand the criticism of him. By far our best, and most valuable, player.

Stephen, I think he is a good player, and has shown glimpses of the quality he posseses to go on and be a top player. But, "World Class" as Kevin points out, is way off the mark, for me, the "World Class" label is bandied about too readily.

IMO, he isn't consistent enough, can be clumsy and lazy. He has yet to prove it on the European and world stage. He is still a young lad so could go on and do it, but "World Class" is way, way off.

When he's seen trotting back when there's an attack going in against us, it's because he's pulled his bollocks out during all the time before and therefore couldn't see out a game in that way. Also, don't forget we bought him for £15 mil and we would want to get more back so, unless Chelsea/Arsenal want to pay us more, because he IS now a better player (full stop!), it aint worth selling him!

I know one thing for sure: it's going to be an iteresting close season.

Ian is exactly right, we won't win anything when our central midifeld pairing are the slowest in the league. At least Gibson understands the notion of a quick forward pass. Our football is slow, lethargic and negative because Fellaini sets the tempo and that's all he does. Backwards passes that he rolls his foot over to make as slow as possible that are usually behind the full back.

We could have had a midfield three of Osman, Pienaar and Arteta over the recent years. Instead, I've had to watch this footballer serve up years of slow sideways passing with our entire game plan built around his ability to head away goal kicks. He won't play for Arsenal because they don't take players without pace.

Those same stats that show he presses also showed he's passed more than any player in the Everton team. Also where does this pressing take place? From what I've seen, it's never remotely near where it should be, it's usually around the edge of the area and often coming in from behind for a foul.

The sooner he's gone the better in my opinion.

To me we have 2 players who would walk in to any prem team.. Baines and Felli and we will be fucked with out them. Felli covers more ground then people think 2 strides and he is halfway down the pitch. He is a powerhouse at both ends of the pitch, but if someone offers £20mill we have to sell.. But if we are to sign a class player then that costs money and big wages...
