Roy Hodgson is apparently looking at a handful of veteran England players to bring on as his assistant coach, with Phil Neville among them.

Great idea!

He'd be BRILLIANT, got to do it full time though 'fizzer', no half measures!

Obviously it would be a HUGE loss to us, but I'm a super-patriot and must put England first.

Is that an insinuation that English/British people don't read books? Where do you get that from? Even the ex-pat types who bugger off to the Canary Islands to run bars rather than get a real job in the rain and dark like the rest of us run book exchanges.

Also, it would be a St. George's flag surely?

I can see it now. The England players in training perfecting the Neville cross. A direct chip slowly travelling into the opposition keepers arms.

Or the Neville backheel. Something only to be attempted when 4 nil up against Fulham.

I can only see it as a good thing to be honest.

If Phil Neville is destined to be a future everton manager, or more involved behind the scenes or coaching, then it will give him good experience at the highest level.

It will also give him a good view on upcoming players, and we all know that many a transfer has been rumoured to have been initiated on international duty with 'words in someones shell" by other top pro's.

People can say what they like about pip's ability, but to me, he is the perfect professional that many others could learn from, and we need people like him to stay around the club. I want him to be involved in some way in the future.

Yes I know he is another defender...
