Everton have joined Aston Villa and Wolfsburg as rumoured suitors for Heerenveen striker Bas Dost.

The Mail report that David Moyes and Steve Round watched the 22 year-old in action against FC Twente on Wednesday but the Bundesliga side believe they are leading the chase for the 6' 4" Dutch U-21 international who is valued at £7.5m.

I have been posting for months about getting this guy in (as well as Jelle Vossen from Genk) so it's good to know the club are listening! Haha.

Sadly though, he has now got into the papers and his price has rocketed. I would say £7.5 million is a fair price but I fear it won't stay that low and he will end up going for over £10 million which obviously counts us out!

This sounds like a story where the editor says.....

"Steve Round was at the game..... do we know who he was watching?? No?? Well just make it up anyway, its only Everton who gives a shit!"

or something along those lines.

They were probably watching someone on the other team who we never heard of and whose value is a lot more realistic (not necessarily shite though, before I'm accused of negativity)

Bit negative the comments fellas - we probably don't have enough money to sign him but we might have in the future.

SR: That Jelavic fella, he's decent, shall we go and see him?

DM: Nah, Rangers will want 10 million for him, and the lads on Toffeeweb will only say we're wasting money by going to see him. What time are Stwathorpe playing?

Good looking player who would be good for us but I fear his price tag will be too much.
Try Jelle Vossen instead, he may be cheaper.

The original article stated that Moyes might have actually been watching Luciano Narsingh. I'd never heard of him but just read up on him and looked at some YouTube footage. Obviously You Tube can be deceptive but he was playing against teams like Ajax, AZ and PSV (both had recent runs in Europe and Twente (the Champions) and he looked exciting. Fast, tricks up his sleave and right footed. Maybe Moyes has found the answer to our long standing right wing issue.

Why do we want some massive target man up front? We already have Fellaini as one big useless donk upfront. Do we relaly want to become a team that just hits the big men with long balls? How would he play with jelavic considering our wide men barely put any crosses in? We need a number 10 style player with a bit of trickery and pace who can take the Cahill role so we can slightly merge our 4-5-1 into a 4-4-2.

I actually think a big man could be usefull but as you say only if it means we dont over use the long ball and also agree we need a number 10.

Agreed Ian, we need to bring in wingers before that can happen... shit, we need to bring in Pienaar before that can happen. I would still rather more of a creative forward played that role though; if not, then Sigurdsson.

The majority of his goals are scored from tap-ins and penalties, with the exception of some good headers. We have Jelavic, Vellios, Straq (if we sign him permanently) and arguably Anichebe; all capable of such, but no small pacey strikers, which we desperately need if we want to be in the top 6 next year.

How about Matt Jarvis to fill one of the winger spots? Or maybe even Charles N'Zogbia? You never know, Villa may also have to sell to buy and he's had a rotten season for them.
