David Moyes has blown off the transfer speculation about Leighton Baines moving to Manchester United for £10M.

Moyes said: ?Leighton's been mentioned again but I don't know why. It's certainly not been mentioned by me. I think if United or whatever club were interested in him they wouldn't mention it; anyway, I certainly don't know anything about it.

?I haven't heard anything. He's a real key player to us. I want to keep him.?

Well he is saying that no approach has been made for Baines that he's aware of.

Aren't the rumours that we got Gibson cheap because we'd agreed to sell Bainsey on to Utd on the cheap???.

Moyes statement here directly refutes that doesnt it!.

Why would Moyes make a statement to a paper linking his player to anyone? We don't see him responding to conjecture and rumours all season, this just gets people talking and he's soliciting it..

Moyes is fully aware that Baines is his most saleable asset and he has to trade.. He's saying if anyone wants him, make me an offer now so I know wear I stand - it's unwritten manager code.

The rumour season begins !!
Here's a few doing the rounds.

Nike are negotiating and financing a deal to bring Clint Dempsey to Goodison along with a deal for Landon Donovan to join us. (Shirt sales stateside could be on the up).

Peel holdings have been told that if they want planning permission for some big scheme at the north docks they will have to incorporate a new stadium.

If only eh !!

Think I'll have another beer before bed.

I can't be the only one who read the headline and thought rumours about Moyes doing WHAT to Baines? No wonder he wants to go to Man U - apparently the worst that could happen is he'd get pulled off at half time.

Ultimately he doesn't have the final say so he can;t really say that.

Read that wrong, thought it said " Moyes blows off Baines, rumours". Apparently Baines said " that's alright we only got half a pie at Wigan"

If you've got a player and you don't want it in the papers,you don't give the journo a comment.
