If they want to mess around again tout him around the promoted teams. He could still do a good job in the premiership for someone.

Or have they got a decent striker to throw in to the mix for a year or more?

We need someone else to step in with serious interest to force Fenerbahçe's hand, really.

These days 31 isn't that old for a CB and I think we should be looking for more than £2.5m.

Even a half season loan would put him back in the shop window of clubs with money and remind people how good a player he is.

Even a club like Wolves would do well to get him in. Not sure why only the Turks are keen on him when he would be so cheap (subjectively speaking)... but as Lyndon said, until someone else comes in they hold all the cards.

We dont have any bargaining position and if Everton are not careful he'll simply be on loan again for another season after which his contract runs out (I think) and then walks on a free. 1m euros now is better that f'all in 12 months time. (Pays Victors wages for 6 months anyway!)

So, I'm sure if we had received over the period a firm and even half-decent offer we would have taken it. The fact is that we have loaned him out for two seasons, which to me suggests we haven't had any transfer interest in him, and we wanted the wage off the books.

In addition, you can't sell a player if he doesn't want to go. It certainly sounds like he wants to play abroad, so might even not want to talk to english clubs, who knows.

I think suggesting that everton are somehow missing a trick and its an easy sell, is a bit fanciful.

The player himself isn't going to just resign and forego his wages (why would he?). So you'd rather hold out and hope we can get 2-3m or take hime back and put him in the reserves?

Re his contract, apologies, we still have 2 years of having to cover his wages should he some back - just the little matter of 5m over that time period if we can't offload him!
