Moyes troubled by Transfer Talk

The Mirror claim that the thought of losing Leighton Baines to Manchester United is troubling David Moyes. He will seek talks with chairman Bill Kenwright if the likes of Baines and Marouane Fellaini are sold.

Moyes has discussed extending his contract, which has 12 months to run. But he has asked for assurances that he would not have to cash in on his star players to raise money for recruitments.

During his 10 years at the club, Moyes has been given the final say on both arrivals and departures from his dressing room.

But he has become increasingly disillusioned about working under a budget that doesn't even allow him to spend the cash he generates through player sales. Kenwright's hopes of extending the 49-year-old Scot's contract until 2015 are likely to hinge on the club's resolve to keep two of their most important players.

I can't believe it... Baines is going to Man Utd, Fellaini to chelsea , Moyes to Spurs and United, Jagielka to Arsenal, Cahill to the Middle East, Barkley to United...

What are we going to do? No team... no manager ? I am devastated . I wish The Mirror and The Mail told me this before I renewed my season ticket.

Hibbo and Ossie are two great players! but it is nice to have another 9 players to make up the team!
I agree about the season ticket, though - we all expected to get Pienarr back and build on the team that finished last season, but now it appears the mainstay of the team will be sold.
Another BAD start to the season!

- Have to agree with Geoff (092), all total bollocks and we all should know better. It's summer ffs and all the tabloids know that news of medium-pace bowler Tommy Wikkit leaving Essex to join Surrey isn't going to shift papers. They also know that they can completely make up ANY football-related transfer shite and out of boredom and/or stupidity, many will fork out 50p to read it. Oh and they also know that if they say EVERY player is going somewhere, they're bound to be right with one or two and therefore able to say "You read it here first!". Fucking ridiculous. Remember an 'insider' or 'a source close to' is practically a guarantee it's shite. Believe nothing unless it's worded.. "Ronnie Twonk to leave Milchester, he himself said at a press conference yesterday, 'I'm going, deffo, offski...no really, I'm fucking off to Climthorne Athletic, deal's done'".

The only quote in the Mirror piece is from Ward about going to the Euros. There isn't even a 'sources close to the club say' pretence at 'authority'. Garbage.

What's getting my back up is that the fact the press seem hell bent on 'making' stories up on a daily basis on either Fellaini or Baines, it's either Baines to Man U or Napoli, Fella to Real, Chelsea etc... it's like they have a free license to play with players' minds, they surely must read the stories.

Just in case some of you didn't realise, I was taking the mick out of the tabloids. I am sure David Moyes is fully aware of what he has got to spend and what it takes to raise money to spend. In my opinion, he has done a very good job of it over the last 10 years no matter what the Blue Union think (other people are entitled to an opinion).

Baines and Fellaini are going nowhere. COYB

Agreed. I think that we all know that players will be sold. It's the only way Kenshite can generate any funds. The well is dry and has been for years.

We need to add to the squad without anyone leaving but we all know that won't happen. 2 steps forward 3 steps back, same old.
