Dutch site pegs Heitinga's wife as leak
In trying to get to the source of the revelations of apparent disharmony in the Dutch squad and their disrastrous Euro2012 performance, a football site in the Netherlands is citing John Heitinga's wife as the conduit to the press.
Wesley Sneijder had gone public with his suspicions that there was a leak in the Holland camp and this Wegannflammel.nl rumour cites Heitinga's omission from Bert van Marwijk's team against Portugal as evidence that the coach had found out that the defender's wife, Charlotte Sophie, had been passing on information to RTL Boulevard.
Despite his magnificent form the Blues this past season and his first-choice status under Van Marwijk, Heitinga was part of a Netherlands defence that was criticised for its porousness in their first two group games which they lost to Denmark and Germany.
So it's highly plausible that he was dropped because of form and not for the reasons speculated by Wegannflammel.nl.

But they were easily beaten and gave up 2 goals int he game he was dropped as well? Was that still his fault?

No mention of the paucity of RVP up front and his missed chances or failing to start with Klaas Jan Huntelaar or Van de Vaart despite the team looking much better after both came on. Sour grapes and looking for a scapegoat, Heitinga made poor decisions but he wasn't the only one.

He made a massive error in the friendly game Holland got beaten In before the Euros and also in both games at the Euros.
Full credit to Van Marwijk for dropping him; he was back to his old ways, switching off and ball-watching.

I said it then and I'll say it again. He must have been longing for Hibbo to his right, Baines to his left and Gibson and Fellaini in front of him. From front to back the whole outfit was a shambles. I've seen Drenthe put in a better shift than some of them. Johnny, come home.

I like Johnny but despite all his badge kissing and fist thumping I rather have Jags ahead of him.
I was suprised when he was dropped by the Dutch, he sold himself too easily against Denmark and it reminded me of how he turned his back on Wellbeck in the 4.4 at OT.
Why cant the Dutch get along?!! Its crazy!

Damn. The most stunning image in that WAG gallery was Heitinga himself on pg1.
Looks like a reanimated John Merrick ditched his classic cap and hood combo in order to turn up as a wheelie bin headed James Bond at the fucking sideshow freaks fancy dress spectacular.
