Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe

 Comments (15) jump to end

Did anyone see how Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe did last night against Newcastle?

I have scrawled through each of the match reports on Sky Sports and BBC and still not heard his name mentioned! Does he look like anything like the Ox that Vincent Kompany tweeted about?

There was an article on here 2 weeks ago just after Newcastle played them at home. Why is everyone assuming (and/or hoping) that this guy will be the final piece of the jigsaw?

I saw a little bit of yesterday's match. My short term scouting mission saw him give the ball away twice; he didn't really do much and he looked pretty slow. And he wears number 32.

Another chance to see Barkley on SS tonight as an aside.

That number 32 is critical John.

I was lucky enough to get to be in Bruges a couple of weeks ago and went to their home game when they were pasted by Lokeren. The score was 2-3 but could easily have been 2-5. Anyway Odjidja-Ofoe was totally anonymous – to be fair so were the rest of his team mates. On the plus side Bruges have a great new stadium (not a bowl) with a tremendous atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you get the chance

I don't think the number is significant lads, they want to sell (I think the manager and player have had issues) and he wants to go, no surprise he hasn't got a more significant squad number.

The fact he is still in the team despite this I would say is encouraging.

Having said that I don't have a fucking clue if he's any good, aside from youtube where he looks mint but don't they all on there?

A cheeky loan in Jan should show if he's decent or not and worth a contract come the summer.

Dave, I can't speak for John but my comment on the number was in jest. Hilarious, I know.

From the few games I've seen him play, he seems okayish, average.

He wears the 32 as respect for Tony Hibbert. His first squad number.

So Steve. Is Bruges as pretty as it looks in that movie of the same name?

And Steve. Is it true there's no police there? The film had guys running thru the streets pumping lead, suicides getting an oooooooh reaction from passers-by, hostel owners threatened with murder, and not even a siren heard. Not to mention wide-open prostitution and drug trades.

Sounds like the Bronx of my youth. But we did have police. Maybe running the prostitutes and drugs, certainly getting their cut. But the line was always drawn at running thru the streets firing away.

Me and the wife went to Bruges purely on the back of watching In Bruges. Good film, lovely city. No drugs, prostitution or gunfights as far as we could tell though.

Ended up in Bruge on a school 'football holiday'. All I can say is if the Charlatans at Cardinal Heenan are still promoting this trip which I doubt, it was 23 years ago, opt for skiing trip instead.

As for the bloke who's name I can't pronounce, ain't got a clue. Just had to vent my spleen.

Belated reply to James - sorry been watching today's game on a very dodgy tinterweb link.

Bruges is very, very pretty. A bit like a Belgian version of Bath. Full of posh chocolate shops, restaurants and friendly bars with dozens of Belgian beers. Not a hitman or bizzie in sight.....

The Bruges ground is actually about three miles from the city centre and we walked all the way as we couldn't find a taxi or a bus. I think we went through what passes for the 'rough' areas and it was very safe.

Try it out and while you are there have a look at the Bierboom;

There is more to Brugges than chocolates and canal trips.

Any Dwarves there? "Why didn't you wave hello to me today when I waived hello to you today?"
