Tyrique George has said he is ready to embrace the competition at Everton for a first-team place this season.
George was handed a start for the opening win over Crystal Palace on Saturday and produced an impressive performance in the 2-0 success at Hill Dickinson Stadium. No player had more shots (5) or more dribbles (3) than George across his 84 minutes on the pitch.
The 20-year-old started just one league game last season, after arriving on an initial loan deal from Chelsea in January, but hopes he has done enough to convince David Moyes that he can be a regular.
George said he was happy with his individual performance against Palace, and says the squad has 'healthy competition' in attacking areas.
"It's a good start – to get three points was really nice, but now we want to continue that positive feeling," George told evertonfc.com.
"I'm happy [with my performance]. I want to be direct, I want to beat my defender. I want to keep it going. We've got top talent in the squad. Ili [Ndiaye], of course, was really good with his assist and his performance. It's healthy competition.
"We've got quite a few young players in the squad, but I feel like we can all handle ourselves well.
"I definitely think I'm improving with every game. It gives me confidence. Obviously, I want to impress – the manager, the fans. I want to show what I can do consistently."

We all hope that the performances of all the players is an omen of things to come as I am sure Palace will be troublesome to many opponents.
Dewsbury-Hall and Ndiaye were tremendous and their guile rubbed off on young Armstrong who surely is a real diamond. Some of them will get a well-earned rest for the Preston game.

Let's hope that Tyler sees this and appreciates how things can open up with opportunities coming his way. I think Chelsea have dropped an almighty "clanger" here, selling Tyrique to us.

Let's see how things go over the next few games before we start praising Moyes for something there is no evidence to support.

Tyrique adds speed and talent to the attack, and I did notice him helping out the defence at times???

Once the midfield knew he was on, they were looking to whip the ball wide and it had Munoz's attention. A couple of times Dewsbury-Hall extended a dribble wide, George recognized and dragged a defender inward, clearing space for Dewsbury-Hall. He then faded from the inward run and stepped back to form a 3-man line with Hackney at top in the middle. That kept the possession with more options than defenders to deny them.
Those moves gave the chance to look up and assess how to attack again, rather than the dreaded back-pass.
If George can continue to find that understanding with Dewsbury-Hall and (hopefully) Hackney, that gives us two points of attack which will require some overshift on defence. Barry and Beto will get some regular service.
George has already shown an ability to work the inside. That slotted pass to Armstrong, who then returned the favor for a goal v Skunks, was a well-worked two-man carve-up of their defence.
Should he continue to track back well and deliver on carrying the ball out of our half, we have something special to celebrate.

I would like to see Moyes rotate the 4 wide forwards that we have, so that they are comfortable on both sides of the pitch.
We as fans must also be patient with the kids, they will all have off days, and not everything they do will come off. But as long as they keep working hard for each other, keep improving, we must be solidly behind them.

Bob(#8); helping out the defence on one occasion forced an otherwise free header over the bar rather than the back of the almost unattended net.

So hard to see that Grealish negates Dibling. My concern is that Grealish pushes Ndiaye right when I think he's better on the left.
The problem with playing the kids though is if they fcuk up it's Moyes fault for playing them in the first place.
