Once a Blue, always a Blue?
Moyes has to leave us at some point. Managers will come and go – some posters have been calling for big Dunc to take the helm.
Much as I hate his RS credentials, Jamie Carragher was once a Blue and has many of the attributes of Duncan Ferguson... could he be a blue again? Could he be a future manager for us?

Knobhead Carragher is RedShite through and through from head to toe, diseased, dirty, cancerous, infected, and counts SewerRat as a chum.
On a more pragmatic note, I don't want another central defender as the gaffer.

I thought there had been some brainless chatter about this on t'interweb last week that we resolutely ignored... Guess I felt that, if someone really wanted to broach such a ridiculous thought in the mailbag, then I could let it air and see what the reaction was.
Glad you lot have not disappointed!
But don't forget what 'Blue' Bill's favourite song of all time is... I wouldn't put anything past him!

On a more serious note I think Moyes's replacement will be Martinez from Wigan. I think he's the kind of guy who could really do something with our squad of players.

I think you'll find after he retires he'll do a McManaman and show up when he can at Goodison Park.

Both ridiculous suggestions. Yard Dogs tactically, but would pump up the Dressing Room for a while I suppose.
I know, how about a Michael Owen / Mick Madar Dream team? One was an Evertonian as a boy and the other scored a few goals in the 90's with issues concerning a lack of self-discipline, but the Street End thought he was ok. Sound familiar ?

He's no blue and what's all that shite about he looks for our results first absolute bollocks. Goodison Park would be empty if that red bastard ever took over at Everton, believe me. Never read so much nonsense in my life.
893 Posted 10/02/2013 at 04:44:20
The thought of JC at Everton is totally abhorent. I suggest you go and seek out a priest or at least wash your mouth out with a bar of Lifebouy. Arrgggg.
906 Posted 10/02/2013 at 09:16:06
He is second in the red shite appearance list, he has well and truly had any blue taken out of him. Red through and through, make no mistake.
Even if he wasn't a red, hes not ready to finish playing & walk straight into a big job at our great club.
Over the last 10-15 years both Carragher & Gerrard have been the figure heads of that club, everything we blues despise, it would be rubbing our noses in it, were he ever to sit in the dugout.

There's as much chance as Phil and Gary being THEIR next joint management team

Fellaini will be gone in the summer but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. We could get £30M for him and if that money is made available for transfers it could be a carrot for any potential managerial targets. I would let Moyes go and approach Laudrup with the promise of the Fellaini money; he might not be interested but to be given time in the new job would also be appealing to most managers. The sad thing for me though is that Moyes will not go, I'm 100% sure about that.
923 Posted 10/02/2013 at 11:43:59
All's I want from players and managers is to give their all for the cause; and as for Carragher, it's a pity that the traditional route of players dropping down a league or two and try their hand as a player-manager has gone out of fashion because it’s a great apprenticeship and it shows that a manager can actually manage without being able to spend their way to success

On another note – we are not a small club so I would hope that whoever takes over from Moyes at least has SOME experience of managing a large football club. We're not a club for wannabe managers to cut their teeth on.
And that includes bloody Phil Neville – future Everton manager? No fucking way!

Carragher - I can't stand the bloke - even as a pundit.
247 Posted 11/02/2013 at 08:46:30
However, I want to take issue with the suggestion that Duncan Ferguson take over as manager.
He seems to have cult status among many Evertonians. I can't for the life of me understand why. Amassing, was it, 13 red cards, a criminal record and beating up some burglars didnt make him a great player, more a liability, and we won the cup in 95 despite him not because of him. He has recently been managing one of the junior sides. And untilI see a major success story both in the results attained and the quality of football played, I see no reason why he should be even considered.
252 Posted 11/02/2013 at 09:31:05
Actually, I'd have my 3 year old nephew ahead of Carragher - and he is a Man United fan!!

As for being our manager. No thanks.
315 Posted 11/02/2013 at 12:46:01
You're right (like the murderers chant), it IS one that is very popular with our dickhead element (I wince when I hear either)
But by him not giving equal weight/criticism to some of the poison spewed by the hilarious, quick-witted, good humoured kop, it is disingenuous therefore imo, void (consequently, he can fuck off).
Was he appalled by reds spitting at Phil Neville?
Or chants about Carsley's kid?
Maybe my problem is a long memory
During the 70s, Garth Crooks had the the entire Kop waving their hands (Jolson-style) at him and informing him he should 'get back on the jam-jar'.
As soon as they signed John Barnes however, they all became like the Rev. Al Sharpton.
For years, Man Utd showing up at Anfield guaranteed thousands on the Kop 'giving it the wings' and singing about Munich.
After Hillsborough of course, that all changed.
So fuck him/them and his/their 'sensitivity' - if it only goes one way, it's simply bullshit point-scoring.
