When was your first time?!
It's late Saturday night, and probably the Jack Daniels talking (after the Oldham game) and I'm chilled, but when was your first time coming onto ToffeeWeb?
What game, situation, or something someone said made you feel the need to come on here?
For me it was after a defeat (obviously, you know me by now) but I went onto BlueKipper one night before coming on here and I couldn't believe all the toe-the-party-line shite on there.
So, when was your first time?

As some old sage said long before I was a twinkle in my fathers eye - it is a game of opinions. And we get some opinions on this site.
I love Tony Marsh I think we are probably the same age. But Doddy grew on me just for his sheer passio to defend his corner (that's what makes us blue) and I would class everyone on this site as a friend.
I love coming on when I have had a few and I know I am spouting shit but don't we all, but it gives me a feeling of being back in L4 on a cold miserable wet day on county road after we have just drawn with Wigan. Who else do you share your opinion with who could honestly understand what it means to be blue.
I live in Nairobi now, watch every game on tv and am usually half cut due to the time difference but it really does give me a feel for home. I only get home every 4-5 months so this keeps it real.
Don't know what I would do without it.

The only player to make me think that we mattered was Tim Cahill. My lad has his book where you could put your name in and you played alongside Cahill, you inserted your lad's name in the book and they sent it to you.
Tim was getting off one day after a game, he had signed loads of autographs, and was walking away, he spotted my little lad waving his book and came right over, had a chat with us (even though his missus was giving him grief) and signed his book. They were the days.

I came on here first at the start of the 2005 season after someone mentioned it at the match. I don't go on Bluekipper — it's too lovey dovey with no cutting edge. The lads who run it are good Evertonians but they don't want to rock the boat. They get players and Everton officals turning up at their presentation nights (or whatever they call it).
This site is like no other and I don't know how the guys who run it keep so up to date so quickly. There are so many threads a day that they deal with, I take my hat off to them. The likes of yourselves and many others who work or live abroad it must be a God send for you. I mean where else would you be kept in the picture with such a broad spectrum of opinions and so many hilarious posters... TalkSport Radio???

I do agree that Mr Kenwright has long pockets and short arms.

I also want to express my disappointment that Brian lives in the posh Surrey suburbs: I had him nailed down for Edge Hill or Seaforth given his always sparky and interesting points of view. Capitalist Waring, you tread on the bones of the workers and eat their flesh.

ToffeeNet produced these t-shirts with the logo on them - Rupert's Tower embedded within the letter "T". And that was what you looked for if you went to a pub to meet up with some before/after an away game.
Not sure that could/should happen with some of the entrenched views on here now. It'd be a riot, with or without a Hibbo goal.

The excuse for everything was money, from Moyes continually buying defenders to playing one up front to hoofball. People who defended Moyes back then were not only rabid but plentiful one lad used "the crowd support Moyes" argument.
I got banned for referring to the dubious wisdom of crowds ... talking about Adolf and his adoring rallies upset some I believe.

I don't contribute all that much now, but still look in every day... there are a few names that aren't here any more (unless I've missed them). What happened to Ciaran McSomething?.... the fella that wound everyone up!

(Brian, I went to Wokingham once about 20 years ago, played cricket for them. My brother Cranners lives in Richmond now, but played cricket there for years and I got invited to play for them. Bouncy wicket as I remember).

The matchday forum is fun though comments usually bear little resemblance to the match!
We have quite a few considered writers here too, many with a real talent for the written word. No forgetting the small band of obsessives that make the rest of us feel fairly normal. I would echo the compliments to the editors – it isn't easy to keep a site like this so up to date and they do a terrific job.
