Season 2012-13

There was a Dutchman, a Croatian and a Frenchman...
This my shortlist of three to replace David Moyes.
1: Dennis Bergkamp, assistant manager at Ajax working with Frank De Boer. He loves attacking stylish football, he knows the Premier League and its demands. He has physical and mental toughness and a fantastic work ethic. He would be better than Laudrup in my view.
2: Slaven Bilic. He not only has valuable Premier League experience, he was a great Everton player in his day. We all know what he achieved with Croatia, but he has not been doing very well in Russia with Lokomotiv Moscow and could become available.
3: Frederic Antonetti. I can almost hear people saying, “who?” He recently left the French Ligue 1 team Rennes after four years and has managed St Etienne and Bastia. He is the “French David Moyes” in the sense that his teams tend to punch above their weight. However, he was publicly critical of Rennes owners for not putting up needed investment. A Moyes with balls!

Shouldn't then Kenwright ask Moyes who is best to take the role at Everton.? We all know how many games Moyes gets too. It's not only the players he would have looked at, he'd have a good grasp of up-and-coming British & German managers as well.
Get Moyes to recommend; it would be his parting gift to Everton.

Peter Reid + Big Dunc would scare the daylights out of the PL.

I can just see it now...Kenwright at a press conference, revealing our next manager. "I am pleased to announce that the next manager of Everton football club...Recommended by the Moysia himsef will be
(long pause and drum roll) our very own Steve round"...

More worrying from my point of view is the high turnover of players since he arrived,

When Slaven played for Everton and eventually succumbed to an injury he was asked by the board whether he felt his playing days were over. The board received eight million pounds in insurance against the player as his career was over.
How do I know this? My friend who worked for a retail telephone company, managed some of Slaven's accounts. They became very friendly, as she did with Tommy Gravesen (who she said was the nicest yet craziest person you could ever care to meet.) Slaven became that friendly that he took members of her family to meet the team and laid on tickets and boxes.
From the horses mouth he adored Everton, much like many who talk of the 'Everton Family' - Slaven fell for us. He is very much a family oriented guy and he loved the club, despite the fact that many call him mercenary for taking wages.
Just thought I throw my tuppence worth in. On a side note, we all know that only ex-players have won trophies for us.

I'd really like to give Phil Neville a chance, too. I think we would have continuity with Neville.

Still, the moment he calls Liverpool a small team I may forgive him.
423 Posted 10/05/2013 at 14:16:37
In that context Neil Lennon would be a great appointment.
I feel pangs of dread every time I hear the names of Hughes, Neville ( nothing new there ) and MacKay linked.
I may not be happy with a different appointment but I could tolerate it.
With those 3 I'm already in the 'out brigade'.

Tommy Gravesen drove a Nissan Micra, Slaven was a very down-to-Earth guy. I feel no need to embellish or manufacture stories to appease or inspire anybody on here. I made similar assertions regarding Franny Jeffers and his relationship with the club. His cousin Paul worked for the same company at the same time as my friend.
Is it beyond the realms of reasonable possibility that people have links or know of people who have relationships with people from the club?
Everton football club have a long standing relationship with O2 and send many of the players to deal with the company. I dealt with two current squad members and a previous squad member quite recently. I worked for the company myself. I can't comment on who these players are because of data protection. However was never employed by BT Cellnet, hence why I have no problem discussing this.
But in the even t of another childish paaaaahaaaaa response. Please furnish me with a reasonable response as to what I stand to gain by sharing such information.
I've written a couple of articles/mailbag posts over the last 6 years on ToffeeWeb. I love the club. In the sense that certain fans have a bad view of a previous player, I am in a position to give opinion due to experience.
I don't know if you use GOT? There's a chap called LCAB who as links to the club. He often speaks where possible regarding the clubs position on certain subjects. People don't ridicule without judging the merits of his statements or answers.
584 Posted 10/05/2013 at 16:13:26
What I do know is that he was deeply upset that the fans saw him as a mercenary at the time. He gave somebody he considered his friend his reason for leaving.

Stats
The club announced on 21 June 2011 that Johnston had signed a contract as player coach.[15] On 3 May 2012, Johnston was appointed as Queens new player manager.[1][16]
Johnston led Queens to a historic double in his first full season in management, winning the Scottish Second Division Championship and the Scottish Challenge Cup.

He's a nice guy and a good coach but nice guys get eaten no matter how much they know about football.
I like Laudrup for his connections an attitude for the game but it seems he wont come. Pereira would seem best option for me but Favre might be good also. We need a manager who has enough experience and connections to Europe because British players are overestimated, overpaid and generally not good enough.
If Moyes tries to get Fellaini we should offer him for for Rooney coming to Everton for two-year-deal in which Manu would compensate. In that way everybody would benefit.
Well, it's never going to happen but hope lives
159 Posted 11/05/2013 at 09:41:00
Plus, and it's a big plus - he's free! No compensation to pay!
I also like the look of Laudrup (big compensation to pay) Poyet, Lambert and Montanier but think we will probably end up with Mackay.
As long as it's not Martinez, Lennon, McClaren or Hughes I'm not that fussy!
