Promote from within ?
Like many fellow Evertonians, I am currently feeling hurt and slightly betrayed that our great club has been used like a pawn in Manchester United's and David Moyes’s master strategy and I am alone in believing the only people who won’t inflict similar pain or use our club is one of us — an Evertonian.
Step forward, Alan Stubbs! Ably assisted by Duncan Ferguson and Davie Weir. I understand that Stubbs has no previous experience and may not even possess the requisite qualifications but he will be committed and for him, like us, there is no bigger job in football. I believe that, with our squad being so well drilled and experienced, the transition could become seamless and who knows how the journey would end.
However, if we do look to the outside, I feel it is important that the new manager maintains our current setup and is only allowed to bring with him a first team coach so Stubbs, Ferguson, Weir et al are continued to develop for the good of the club. Ideally we could do without the scenario where a new manager appoints his own backroom staff like Mark Hughes and Sam Allardyce do.

I saw some stories seeing how we played attractive football with a limited budget, which I think is misleading, we don't always play attractive football. I want a change, where the football is good. That's why I don't want someone from within, it will just be the same as the last 11 years, and despite us finishing high up the table, I'm bored!! I want to see something different!
Plus the lack of experience is a factor, though they know the club inside out, and the league, management is a different kettle of fish.

Whoever comes in, can we have some sort of return in silverware please? The £22M Moyes picked up during his last contract is a ludicrous amount to pay for "stability", one cup final, and the odd game in the Europa League.

No thanks.

Jose Mourinho should be the first port of call follwed by Jurgen Klopp.
Chances are both will turn the opportunity down but I strongly feel Kenwright should aim high. Really deliver his best bullshit and play on the fact that Everton are the 6th best Premiership team.
After that maybe turn to Fabio Capello, Michael Laudrup, Vitor Pereira or Manuel Pellegrini. And if they are not interested then start looking at the more realistic Roberto Martinez, Neil Lennon, Malkay McKay and Mark Hughes.
Of course it would be romantic and exciting to give Duncan Ferguson, Alan Stubbs or Phil Neville a chance but that would be very daring and could back fire.
Kenwright could also be controversial and hand Rafa Benitez the reigns of this 'small club'. Benitez has a proven record and is actually doing a good job at Chelsea. But I cant imagine Kenwright would upset Everton fans by appointing Benitez.
Anyway for me Kenwright should start at the top, Mourinho, Klopp, and work his way down until he gets the best possible manager.

It is nice to see a new name posting an article here and I know the events of the last week have been traumatic for a lot of fans and I am trying not to be too harsh here and don't take this the wrong way but put down the ale and step away from the keyboard!

Can we mix it up with some counter-attacking football and can we get a new man In that will restore the confidence of Jelavic? The neat joined up stuff played at walking pace allowing the other side to amble back and flood the defence will have to change under the new man. Whoever comes in will be charged with maintaining our premiership status, keeping the fans onside and having complete contempt for all the other clubs that we play.
I don't want a Martinez or Benitez nor do we need ex-players stepping up. Neville needs to learn his trade at a lower league club and bring them thru. If we got a Mourhino type we may get a new buyer? The special one will have his work cut out, however this would show just how good this guy is? If Kenwright had any moral fortitude he would at least sound him out. Anyway the King is dead long live the King.

"the neat joined up stuff played at walking pace"
That sums the tactics of David Moyes up perfectly

Folks promotion from within in not the way forward. We have got to try something new in order to obtain the goal of Champions League Football. Hopefully, that remains the goal. We need a foreign manager who will bring us back to our core values, " to the school of science way of playing football". A foreign manager who will demand a realistic budget from the Board in order to provide us with a shot of obtaining our goals.
This week has been a shameful week for Everton football club. Treated as a third rate outfit, a feeder to club to Manchester United. If Bill things there is merit in keeping Moyes in charge for the last two games he is mistaken.
With Moyes departure can Kenwrightś departure be far behind.

Managing a title winning Dutch side with a fantastic youth set up, or managing a title winning German side, semi final of the Champions League with an even better youth set up and faciltiies.
They will not be interested in coming to Everton.

In the advisory letter to its shareholders it was disclosed that although the appointment of Mr Moyes had not involved a transfer fee there were additional costs that would have had to be met to purchase the contracts of Baines, Fellaini, Jagielka and Barkley which together would equate to the takeover figure quoted by the directors of Everton FC.
The merger now enables Manchester United plc to sell Goodison Park to Liverpool FC and the Finch Farm training ground for housing development. These actions together with the sale of players’ contracts will enable the company to acquire the assets at no net cost.
Bill Kenwright has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of Manchester United Supporters Club (Liverpool Branch), and has been quoted breathlessly as saying that under his stewardship of Everton Football Club, now merged with Manchester United, was a great success and has resulted in the great name of Everton Football Club now being associated with a record 20 League Championships…
It is understood that Everton’s place in the Premier League will be taken by the team finishing 18th and the vacancy in the Football League structure will be offered to Southport.
