Brazil vs Colombia
Potentially the tastiest quarter final of the four, Brazil take on the dynamic and enterprising Colombians in Fortaleza.
The hosts squeezed past Chile in a gruelling round-of-16 encounter that had to be decided by a dramatic penalty shootout while Colombia brushed Uruguay aside in their first knockout match.
It promises to be the sternest test thus far of Brazil's credentials as tournament favourites.
Kick-off is 9pm UK time on Friday, 4th July.

I fully expect Columbia to not only win this game but the entire tournament. In four games they have scored 11 goals and conceded two. Of all the teams I have watched no one counters better or sets up better. James Rodriguez has been the POT for me. Also our own beloved manager believes they have the best attacking talent in the world.
What is scary is how young they are and that they are doing it without Falco. Not only could/probably they win this year they may very well repeat in 2018. All they have to do is stay healthy and together. The only way I see them loosing tomorrow is the ref.

Columbia will beat Brazil who are very average without Neymar.

Other than James Rodriguez and maybe Guarin, not much from Colombia today. Very disappointing to see them depend on James so much.

Ref is from Spain.
Columbia started off seemingly scared of Brazil but who wouldn't be with 60k people screaming at you?
I don't know how Brazil scored their goal other than Silva was left wide open – dreadful marking. After that, I think the Colombians were thinking about what happened in 1994 and the subsequent happening after they got home.
They certainly did not play as they had at the beginning of the World Cup. I may be a little sceptical but I don't think the ref was, at times, fair to them.
Then came the stone-cold penalty and the way the trip happened, perhaps the card should have been red not yellow. James scored and you could see TWO entirely different teams on the pitch. IMO, James didn't do much more in the game.
Colombia really pressed hard for the final 15 minutes and Brazil, as well as wasting lots of time, played as if they were really scared. I think Germany will have noticed this.
Hard luck, Colombia, and I have doubts about that goal that was called back.

BULLETIN... NEYMAR'S BACK BROKEN. Fractured vertebra from Zuniga's knee in the back. Out of the World Cup, of course, and could be off the pitch for quite a while. Terrible.

I thought the Colombians lost it slightly mentally today. They seemed scared at the start and then over anxious later on. Brazil were not that good and I felt Colombia had the quality to beat them if they had kept their heads.
Neymar out and captain Thiago Silva will definitely miss after incurring a suspension. Looking good for the Germans (unfortunately!).

ESPN says it's an injury more typical of a rear-end auto accident. No surgery, immobilized, 6-8 weeks before starting rehab and conditioning. That means he likely won't be ready for the start of Barça's season either.
