5-a-side tournament: Play for ToffeeWeb
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, members of Everton fan site NSNO are organising the first Independent Everton Website five a side tournament and we at ToffeeWeb would like to field a team.
In association with, and in aid of Everton in the Community, this charity event will see teams from a variety of Everton websites compete in what they hope will become an annual event that will raise a lot of money for a fantastic cause.
Obviously, most of our readers frequent a number of the unofficial EFC sites so you can choose which one to represent but it's all in the name of fun and charity.
The event will be held on 27th July at Everton in the Community's sporting complex at King George V, Huyton from 10am.
If you are interested in playing, please email lyndon@toffeeweb.com ASAP to let us know. We're hoping to get 10 to a dozen players signed up to allow for substitutes and no-shows.

If readers here are also readers of other sites how do we deal with that?
Maybe illiterate and foul-mouthed readers should play for Bluekipper?
Those who don't like to use their real names go for GOT?
Pedants corner inhabitants can play for Dixies Sixty?
As its in Huyton, KEIOC should have no problem fielding a team?
Those anti-BK posters can join the squad of Blue Union (as long as there's a 600 squad limit?)
Who'll be left to turn out for TW?

I'd be hoping that the final would come down to teams captained by Mr Dodd and Mr Marsh (where is Tony these days?). Would certainly bring the crowds in!

I would go for Eugene in defence.
Nothing gets past him.

How much would we get paid? My agent would want his cut and what about image rights? I used to be a hard, but fair, right back, I'm sure my boots are still in the shed somewhere.

If this actually happens, you have to get video and post it...

I’m thinking Phil Sammon wide right - Kev Tully wide left - Sam Hoare in the middle (good to have the celebrity fizz in the team given SH’s exploits with TV presenters) - we need a firm fella at the back and that has to be well me but I won’t be able to make it so in lieu of me it ought to be Sean Kelly (we must have at least one Irishman in the team) whose experience is beyond value - Harold Matthews between the sticks (easy) eight decades of experience and he learned all he knows from Ted Sager - Sub? Eugene-R, we need to get him in the 4th official’s ear
1-1-3
Matthews
Kelly
Tully - Hoare - Sammon
Like the site of the year the trophy is ours.

Jamie - Good idea. Hope it is available on free to air. Maybe Lyndon is negotiating a 5-year worldwide TV rights deal?

Good right-footed former left-back here... pity my knees and ankles are shot or I would have been interested.
I would have given Baines a run in my day, etc etc.

I was a mediocre goalkeeper in my youth for a few years. Merseyside has done well with American goalies!

I take it that there will be abundant medical help available.

I was pretty handy up front in my day. In fact, the older I get, the better I was......

Paul 217, I love your faith, though if things were running through me in the middle they would run very slowly!
In all seriousness, I'm a semi-decent CB and would be well up for it but sadly have an unmovable work thing that day. Best of luck though lads!

Nice one, Kevin.
Here is a real video of some oldies in Perth who might inspire some of us. Notable that they are all ex-pats and there is one Scouser in there. A back line aged 250 – classic.
