Toffees Down Under
By Phil Sammon 18/07/2014
A bit of a long shot here, but having recently moved to Melbourne I was wondering if there are any Evertonians nearby and what they usually do for the games.
Sadly the games over here will virtually all take place at an obscene hour...but that doesn't put me off.
So is there anybody else in a similar situation over here?

Hi Phil,
There are quite a few Everton supporters in Melbourne. We get together regularly for the games. Where abouts in Melbourne are you based?
We are actually getting together next Friday the 25th. So if you are interested go to Young and Jacksons on Flinders St. (opposite the station). We will be there from 7:00pm onwards. Hope to see you then.

Great city, Melbourne; enjoy Â….. Tony and Vijay, donÂt get him started on politics, he doesnÂt like the workers. HeÂs probably in Melboune on some sort of ÂmissionÂ.

Oh wow, thank you Tony! I have agreed to work on Friday night unfortunately but it's encouraging to hear there's an active Everton community over hear. I will definitely come along next time you have a get together though. Are you doing anything for the pre-season friendlies?
Thank you Vijay.
Get screwed Ferry! Hope you're well mate.

Thanks Suresh. I'll take a look when I'm on my laptop.
Oh and I'm in Richmond, Tony.

Hi Phil, when you are up in Cairns give us a shout.
Also Cheers bar in Sydney is a great venue whilst the games are on, some good Everton fans there, also get the odd pop in by Mr Cahill.
Also met Duncan McKenzie there

Hi Phil like Suresh said if you are on Facebook. Join the Australian Everton Supporters Club pages. You will find out all the news on there.
As you are in Richmond it will be easy for you to come to any meet ups we have.
I doubt we will get together for any pre season games. As they are unlikely to be on the telly live over here.
Once the season starts then you can join in with everybody else.

Phil,
As Tony says above, come along to Young and Jackson's at the corner of Swanston and Flinders Streets, opposite Flinders Street Station. Tony and I will be there from 6:30pm, I'll bring my flag for the wall of the pub, we are all very friendly.
Make sure you join ESCA Melbourne on Facebook and send a friend request to Vince Peach, the presenter of the longest running classic Soul Show 'Soultime' on 106.7 PBS FM each Wednesday between 3 and 5pm. Vince is a great Blue from Huyton.
