On Sunday at St Luke's from 1pm to 3:30pm, the EFC Heritage Society  are starting to display weekly throughout the season the championship winning team of 1914-15, celebrating the centenary of Everton's league triumph  and the centenary of the outbreak of World War I. Evertonians will discover the teams, results and what was happening on the killing fields of Europe in an unique display.

In the 1969-70 championship-winning team, we had a player who burst onto the scene in Alan Whittle; the Echo headline of the day read "Is this the jewel in the crown?" as Alan's goals sealed the trophy.

Roll back the years to 1915 and a young local lad burst on the scene who just knew were the back of the net was, this young man was called Billy Kirsopp. We will not reveal his goal tally just at the moment but pop in to St Luke's before every home game to get the next installment of this amazing story. You have heard of War and Peace... well, on Merseyside we call it War and Football.

The display is free to all football fans on match days, closes 30 minutes before kick off.
