I'm not really a fan of the Champions League (Runners-Up League more like) and all the associated razzmatazz and cash bias it brings about. Truth be told, I don't even watch much of it ... however...
I am struggling about what to feel over this Redshite vs Real Madrid game. My heart wants to see our neighbours have several new holes torn, which destroys their confidence and arrogance (albeit fleetingly), but my head wants them to qualify for the knock-out stages so they don't get that "runners up league losers dropping into the Uefa cup" fiasco – where we all know, due to their satanic pact, they will meet us in the quarter finals where crease head will score one of his streaky screamers against the run of play, to see them through.
Gaaaaaargh! Tell me what I should want to happen!

Chris - you should want Real (who I really don't like) to stuff the RS and take that smug look off Rogers' face for good.
Keep in mind that if the RS finish last in the group, they don't make the Europa. In fact I think the only way they make the Europa is by finishing 3rd.
They've lost 2 of their opening 3 games, another defeat to Real would make it 3 defeats from 4......still chance of finishing bottom of the group given Real will likely not play their full side once they win the group (probably this week).

Chris, spot on. The group stage of the so-called CL is a bore fest, just a money spinner for the richer teams who, a few years ago, blackmailed Uefa into this, otherwise they were going to form a breakaway super league, remember?
I'm still going for a 7-0 Madrid win though.

It has to be Real Madrid for me - if only to see how long it takes the rumoured "Rogers Out!" banner takes to appear at their ground but seeing as the said rumour was in that bastion of newspapers the Daily Star I won't hold my breath.

Real Madrid for me as well. Want them to totally humiliate the RS. Won't go as far as Colin's prediction but 4 or 5 will do me.

I actually read some of the garbage they publish on rawk the other day (I had my jabs first). The amount of Padraigs, Diarmids, Svens, Olafs etc... going into meltdown was comedy gold.

Announcers in USA giving Brenda the stick about his benching of everybody on the 1st. Best and truest comments deal with class.

12/1? Is that the predicted score?

I think it is only now that people are starting to really believe how much Suarez carried them last season. You would never believe that one player could make such a difference. It's only when you see Spurs without Bale and the RS without Suarez that you realise it.
Neither Spurs nor the RS planned properly on how to spend the money from selling the players. Both clubs may have hoped that the players were going to stay but both must have known that there was a strong chance the players were going to leave. They would also have known that they would have commanded a hefty transfer fee. Surely at the end of a season and the start of a transfer window, you would have a list of players that you would like to sign. With the windfall from both players, not having a quality shopping list ready was criminal. Yes, other clubs were going to charge you extra but the RS transfer dealings over the summer have been shocking.
When you consider how pissed off many fans are with our recently published account, imagine how pissed off a RS fan is right now.

The scatter gun approach that the RS and Spurs used was doomed from the start. Both of them should've bought two 㿔m players to replace rat boy and Galen but they went out and blew all the money on average (Markovic, Lamela) to poor (Manquillo, Lambert) players.
They should've gone for the likes of Lavezzi, Griesman, Di Maria etc.... But fuck 'em, I hope they both rot.

Colin, very good point. Arsenal with Sanchez, Chelsea with Costa and Man Utd with Falcao and Di Maria. Big club mentality. Spend big on one or two quality players is the way to go. Buying in bulk is something you would see a newly promoted club do.
Fuck 'em indeed.

Good advice fellas. I can relax now... come on Madrid!
On them lot losing the nibbler last season – it seemed blatantly obvious to me that they'd do no good this season. Just look at how the high tempo playing mainly Liverpool based England team did in the World Cup. Without a real distraction like the nibbler, for the opposition defence, Sturridge didn't get any space or time to do his flouncy stuff. Sturridge looked poor and will continue to do so, without a real quality (much though I disliked the gutter rat, I have to admire his ability) foil beside him to attract attention defenders' away from him.

I'm just watching Ronnie and Madrid mates teaching Brenda's Redshite a footballing lesson. And he's spared Stevie Slip the embarrassment.

Real Madrid the best attacking football team in the world.
11 men defended the Liverpool corner.

Man City are getting hammered by Sky and its pundits but how the referee managed to give every decision against them is a complete mystery. CSKA were a good team but if I was a City fan I would be livid with both the officials and the lack of respect shown by sky for what are after all the English Champions.

Agreed, Patrick... that ref must be counting his roubles as we write.

Colin, Patrick – the ref only got one call wrong, booking the wrong Moscow player and saving that team from going down to 10 men. Toure was rightly sent off and could have had a second yellow beforehand (probably wishes he had). Aguero dived trying for a penalty and was correctly booked. If anything the ref let Man City off as Nasri could have been red-carded.
The City players surrounding the ref at the end was classic 'Do you know who we are?' arrogance. Meltdown time and hilarious.

Nick, I'll give you the Toure sending off, but do you honestly believe that Aguero dived for the penalty – I don't! There was another penalty later on which should also have been given. What is the minimum number of players a team can finish the game with? Perhaps that is why Nasri stayed on the pitch as you rightly say he should have received his marching orders very late in the game.
I have no love for Man City the team but I do feel their supporters were cheated tonight. Do you think that the Referee would have given the same decisions at OT, Anfield, Emirates or Stamford Bridge? The draw for the group stages was in my opinion very suspect and how the runners-up got a better draw on paper to the English Champions was beyond belief. I take notice of how the media treat Man City and Chelsea in comparison to the Red Tops (RS, Man Utd and Arsenal) and there is a definite difference which we would also suffer should we ever get a chance of CL football.

I was there last night as a mate of mine (an ex-referee and a big City fan) who invited me for hospitality.
He says the referee got all decisions right apart maybe the CSKA player wrongly booked – yep, including the Aguero decisions. He also said Toure was a disgrace etc ~ he's as passionate about City as I am of EFC, so I'm taking his stance.
Basically he said the referee had a good game, City were extremely poor (and have been all season) and CSKA played very very well – nuff said.
Oh and the fact that they all want Ross!!!
Fuck them.
