Brilliant result for the RS today so hopefully with confidence from the other night, another great incentive for us to go all out tomorrow and get 2 points ahead of them.

Yes Sue, yet another great incentive to get ahead of them. Just like last week and the time before that and the time before that .....
Let's hope this time we do it.

Maybe Southhampton are genuine top 4 material. Certainly no signs of slowing...

Let's see what they do after Xmas Sam, I think they still have some pretty big games to play both home and away wereas we've already had a few of the big games.
Good luck to them tho considering their transfers last summer.

Sue - As we've noticed ourselves in the past - it's picking up those points from the mid to lower table teams that helps towards challenging towards a CL place and too often they are the sort of games which have let us down in the past - Southampton go into those games against the 'bigger' clubs brimming with confidence and if there is one group of supporters who really shouldn't be doubting Southampton and their results it us Evertonians who constantly complain about being regarded as a little club punching above its weight no matter what results are achieved.

Don't fret.
We'll blow it again, we always fucking do when it comes to jumping above the other lot.

Dave, last season was the first in a few they finished above us and everyone apart from their deluded fans know they over achieved. I can see us restoring the natural order and finishing above them again

Just as well some team is keeping up with Chelski. The rest of us at the moment don't have a sniff in hell's chance. Southampton have some outstanding top team fixtures to play before the half-way mark, but they have accumulated the points to well merit their standing at 2nd in the league. As said before, it's not a sprint... wish it was us there though.

Kevin,
Here's me thinking that Mike Walker would never work again? I still have a feeling in my water that – if BK stays at Goodison for another half a decade – then DM will return.....

I see no reason that says Southhampton will drop out. They have a good set of players that the coach stays with every game. They got rid of their deadweight for ridiculous sums of money that they can use in January if they need to.

Quick turn around in the game at the Liberty stadium - seems every team is struggling to get those elusive 1-0 wins.

Some fantastic stuff from Swansea.... Two brilliant simple goals.
Puts our game against them into some perspective, perhaps...

No Michael, maybe Swansea play better without that yard dog Shelvey in the side?

Le Saux claiming on our comms here that second simple header could be prevented. This always puzzles me.
Yes, perhaps you can close down and prevent the cross... but, if a cross is laid on a plate for a towering header, how do you prevent the finish without fouling the striker, and risking a penalty?
The defender has to be exactly where the striker is, which he can't be. If he's infront, and he can't jump the extra 3½ inches, the ball goes over him and the striker still scores.

Like I said earlier, we are only 4 points off 4th place. I know it doesn't compensate for today's result/performance but the league is wide open and the likes of Swansea, Southampton, WHU will fall away by Xmas leaving at least two CL places up for grabs.
It will be between us and the usual suspects (Arsenal, RS and Spurs) to grab one of those places. 27 games still to go.

I can't listen to Le Saux without thinking of him getting wanked off by that Physio. Amazed Fowler didn't end his involvement in footy, so fair play to him for making a career for himself after he finished playing.

Colin, those sides who are 'in form' had very few players at the World Cup. Must be something in that?

Cheers Kieran that was a picture that I didn't have in my mind and certainly didn't want.

Lol, Kieran. I assume it's NBC paying him in The States, as him and Arlo White get their mugs on screen live from the ground and chat amiably with the lovely Rebecca in the studio...
Before NBC did the US distribution of the EPL, I think Fox were buying the 'standard' commentary provided as part of the feed. I assume those watching live in other parts of the world get a different commentary team at the match (I'm not talking about dubbed-on commentary from the studio).
Maybe Matt Traynor knows the skinny....
Brilliant win for Swansea!

Crazy league, what a shame we're not able to capitalise.

Sorry Patrick, I could have worded that a bit better!
On a side note, can we get a 㿨m buy out clause in John Stones contract ASAP.
United and Arsenal desperately need such a defender.

Four points off Champions League. Could be a lot worse considering how poor some of our performances have been this season.
Annoying thing is, it is a really poor quality league this year. If we could string any consistency together, we'd be right up there.

Okay, I guess Phil Dowd answered my question earlier in the game, with that nailed on penalty shout against Chambers as he blatantly pushes Bony out of the sweet spot — not called!!!

Next 3 home games, Hull, QPR, Stoke off the top of my head, we will win all three.

That's a bit confident Kieran and I believe we have West Ham prior to the QPR and Stoke matches - We can't be assured of any points from any game until the players show their capabilities and don't underestimate the merit of Barry if he is missing for any significant number of matches.

I fancy anyone at Goodison Patrick, and Saints for example have had a piss easy run of games. Their December looks tough, and we play them away around Xmas time so I reckon we will give them a game too. Having said that, our performance there last year still wakes me up at night !
As for Barry, a huge miss. But what an opportunity for Gibson or Besic ? Massive chance for either.
