This most likely is of little consequence to most. But I am thrilled to discover something this morning.
I've long joked with my wife about my Irish roots that, due to my love of Everton, my family came on the boat from Liverpool, not Ireland as we've been told. Due to the large population of Irish immigrants in Liverpool, I jokingly have said for years that God himself had a hand in my "choosing" Everton almost 9 years ago – surely it was in the family line a hundred or so years ago. Surely there was a "stop-off" in Liverpool via Ireland?
Through Facebook, I've been connecting with other Crowleys and this morning I was linked to the Crowley family tree at ancestry.com.
My Great Grandfather, James Clinton Crowley, emigrated to Boston from...?
Liverpool, England.
Maybe I was born and not manufactured after all?
Happy Days. COYB – clearly it's in the family.
