Another player leaves for nothing.

How come all the over-priced bums the RS buy always put cash in the Reds’ bank when they are given the bum’s rush?

I wondered the same myself!

I have convinced myself it is to make way for an influx of outstanding additions, where BK has thrown caution to the wind, and told Roberto, "You choose them and I’ll back you all the way."p>Wonga, Quick Quid, and Amigo have told him it makes sense!

No club would have dreamed of paying a transfer fee for him. This is a player who was ineffectual on loan at Blackpool last season. Blackpool currently have a squad of 8 professionals having offloaded better players than Vellios.

Liverpool pay far more for players and, Suarez apart, have tended to lose money on most of them.

I agree with top 2 comments. We always lose players for free or very cheap. Vellios and Heitinga both left on frees this year and if we had had the brains to sell when they were sort of hot we could and should have been looking at £10/15m.

Vellios had a few Premier League goals to his name and at a young age 3/5 prem goals would fetch £3/5m of any bottom 10 club’s money. Johnny after the World Cup would have fetched £8/10m. Instead we receive nothing.

Gosling is another one; again, he’s flopped but when he was hot he had to be worth £3/4m. I’m sure there’s many many more but I will last but not least mention our World Cup winner, German defender Mustafi. Again free transfer now linked with a £10m move to Inter. I’d say that’s a fair point proven.

Then there’s the likes of Spearing, one of many garbage players the RS get millions for. Don’t like to jump on the Bill Kenwright band wagon but we sure need to learn on how to run a tighter ship. Maybe a Daniel levey style approach would suit.

Ant #4, Vellios was rubbish, we couldn’t have paid someone to take him. Heitinga had 6 months left on his contract and we were paying him £50 grand a week to watch the match on Sky when the money could be better used for Other Operating Costs. Gosling’s contract had expired so we couldn’t have gotten money for him and Mustafi was an unknown academy player.
