Everton Under-21s striker Hallam Hope will spend the next six months at Sheffield Wednesday after the Blues agreed to loan the player to the Championship club.

Hope, who had loan spells with Bury and Northampton Town last season, could go straight into the Owls' team to face Nottingham Forest tomorrow.

The club have also announced the signing of young free agent goalkeeper Conor Hunt who recently rejected a new contract at Blackpool.

Brilliant news, with a bit of luck he will start matches at Wednesday and we can see what this kid is made of.

I thought we had enough young goalkeepers. I wonder if they’ll loan him back to Blackpool, he’d likely get lots of shot-stopping experience there.

Way down the pecking order so best if he learns his trade in the Championship/
U21 football is no good for development – you need to be up against older experienced players and play in a stadium, not on a training ground pitch watched by two men and a dog.

I think this will either make him, or he will go down the same path as Duffy. I have seen him a few times and he has really impressed me with his speed, but little else to follow that up. Maybe he just needs a prolonged spell playing competitive football.

Hope this works out for the lad. He will get games and the expierenced tough defenders he will face will either make him or break him.

I must be honest, in the times IÂ’ve watched the Under-21s, Hope has looked the most rounded attacking player we have. For me, he looked more able than Long or Kennedy last season.

Wednesday is a great loan move for anyone. They get over 20k every home game in a big noisy stadium; they didnÂ’t do Barkley any harm, did they? Excellent move.
