U21s fullback loaned to Telford

Everton have farmed right back Ben McLaughlin out to Telford United on a one-month loan.

The 19 year-old is eligible to go straight into the Vanorama Conference club's team for Saturday's FA Trophy tie against Fylde.

Clubmate Connor Hunt is also on loan in the non-Leagues after joining Hyde recently on a temporary basis.

Some of these loans of our youngsters appear bizarre. Telford apparently are bottom of the Conference, you'd think it was hardly the place to develop a youngster in line with our current style.

Similarly, I read that Connor Hunt wasn't even in the 16 for Hyde's last game. Either he was injured or he's 3 rd choice GK for a team bottom of Conference North, hardly an inspiring time for a youngster.

Isn't this what Joe Royle was brought in to do, ensure that youngsters were best placed in their loans?

Also read in a local (Scottish) paper that Matthew Kennedy was returning from his loan at Hibs, although haven't seen that on the OS. He's another loanee who has spent more time on the bench than in the starting team. It seems that only Matthew Pennington at Coventry is having a successful loan spell.

Telford have just got rid of the gaffer too. Odd, but I know a few people who follow the mighty (cough) bucks. So if he does anything of note I will pass it on
