Everton have agreed to send Academy striker Chris Long to Brentford on an initial one-month loan deal.

The 19 year-old is the latest product of the youth system to spend time with the Bees, following in the footsteps of Adam Forshaw, Jake Bidwell and Conor McAleny, and joins the Championship side ahead of their trip to Norwich City this weekend.

An England U20 international, Long made his first appearance for the senior side as a late substitute in the Europa League dead rubber against Krasnodar and also scored for the Blues in a pre-season game against SC Paderborn.

“We are aware of his talent and we are looking forward to seeing how he benefits from the loan move and how he impacts the team's performance," said Brentford boss Mark Warburton.

“Chris is a young boy with enormous potential and who will add value to the group over the coming weeks.”

Show your class.. lad! Now you have the opportunity to deliver your undoubted talent. Robbie will never give you a chance...heÂ’s to busy trying to prove Lukaku was money well spent!! NOT!!!!!

Surprised he hasn't been given a chance, even on the sub's bench, apart from a few minutes against the Russian team.

From the very little I've seen on him via TV he's looked exactly what he is a promising 19 year old not good enough yet to be near the first team squad . Brentford are a tidy club with good potential , so he'll have to work hard to get first team starts, but far better there for him than a team at the bottom of in a lower league. I hope he plays well enough to get the loan extended to the end of the season and get even more experience .
