Police investigate incident that left Academy 'keeper in hospital

Merseyside Police are investigating an alleged fight at Finch Farm that put U18s goalkeeper Ciaran O'Loughlin in hospital with a neck injury.

A spokesperson for the club said: “The matter is being investigated internally and the club will make no further comment.”

Does anybody know the identity of the 18year old academy player being investigated by police for allegedly injuring another academy player in a training ground incident?

The goalie took a beating mate. Was in a few papers earlier this week.

The Guardian reported that 17-year-old goalkeeper, Ciaran OÂ’Loughran was taken to hospital from Finch farm after an altercation with an 18-year-old, believed to be another Everton player. Police were investigating an alleged assault.

According to Twitter, the 18-year old involved in the incident is Arlen Birch. The disciplinary hearing is set for Friday.
