We haven't been able to compete with the top 6 for years, and now with London being more of an attraction than europa league football, teams like West Ham and Crystal Palace will benefit even more in the future. I'd also like to point out that none of Martinez's permanent signings have actually been a major success, Besic still has to prove himself, Lukaku had a poor season last year and McCarthy has been ok. all the rest I'd class as failings, some can still turn it around but the likes of Barry, Kone and McGeady need to be replaced, whilst Eto'o and Alcaraz have left.

Seems like everyone, even in a recent survey, fans from the other 19 Premier League clubs can see where we are going wrong, apart from the people in charge of our club.

Yes, We're not going anywhere. The club is playing safe. The coach is playing safe. His new signings are his old signings. We're marching on the spot. Any club showing improvement will go past us. We were up with the top 6. We are now being challenged by the bottom 6.
Never mind wingers. I'm still waiting on the experienced class replacements for Howard, Arteta, Fellaini, Pienaar, Osman and Distin? Some gone, some should have gone, some ready to go. Actually, looking at that lot, I've changed my mind. We're not marching on the spot. We're moving backwards.

There's been a seed change at the Echo with a few articles reflecting supporters concerns and pointing out our lack activity in the transfer market, but for me, the most prescient article was written by Howard Kendall, when he asked where are the goals going to come from? Hopefully that situation will be addressed before the window slams shut because with young and inexperienced defenders you are always going to concede chances and possibly goals so we need to up our scoring ratio in order to ensure we take at least a point from some games.

I think we're all asking the same question, where are the goals coming from ?
Maybe there's still time, we always leave ourselves a hill to climb in the transfer market, but that's down to the owners releasing the fund's.
We definitely need more firepower or it's going to be a dull and worrying season.

Not enough creativity, not enough strikers and owners happy to maintain the status quo = no goals = horrible season.
I hope we get the right people in quickly but more than that I hope we get rid of Kenwright and co.

The sad thing is though the board and Martinez, in every interview seem over the moon to have just Lukaku as a recognized Premier League quality striker.
Martinez is on another planet if he thinks Kone is ever going to regain anything he had before his injury two years ago whilst Naismith will only take you so far with his work-rate.
The midfield outside Mirallas has no goals in, you can't see more than a combined total of 5between McCarthy, Barry, Besic, Gibson when fit and Pienaar and McGeady will offer next to nothing, you might if your lucky get 6 or 7 from Barkleybut more likely nearer 4 or likewise Cleverley and Deulofeu who's hardly been classed as prolific and won't start enough.
Its a mess but as I say our management and board seems chuffed so everything is dandy.

I don't know who to blame for the lack of signings, Board or Martinez. Everyday that goes by without some serious interest in a player theres is a little voice in my head screaming " Where's the Arteta money" We all should be used to this by know.

James, Martinez will identify targets and try to talk them into joining, he'll have nothing to do with the monetary side of buying players that will be the CEO, it could be a combination of both being unable to find new players after targets have opted for elsewhere and the boards unwillingness to pay certain amounts for players both in transfer fees and wages.

I'll be 64 in a few weeks, and I honestly believe that I'll go to the grave without ever seeing Everton win another trophy unless the big money people take a shine to us and invest. Still, I'll always have memories of great EFC sides of the past.
