Yarmolenko talks ongoing

updated Everton are in discussions with Dynamo Kiev regarding a proposed deal for Andriy Yarmolenko and have agreed a fee according to reports.

Those Liverpool Echo are reporting that the club are willing to trigger the player's 20m release clause, a suggestion countered by sources in Ukraine who claim no such clause exists. Nevertheless, it was our understanding that the player is keen but that Everton also face competition for Yarmolenko from as-yet un-named clubs.

Kiev's owner Igor Surkis has gone on record as saying that Yarmolenko will only be allowed to leave for a "top club" and Stoke City's attempts to sign him earlier this summer were knocked back on that basis.

Whether that represents a stumbling block where Everton are concerned - it's unlikely; again sources closer to Kiev assert that the Blues are highly-regarded - remains to be seen but it has been suggested that negotiations are unlikely to be straightforward.

Still, ESPN are claiming that the Blues have now agreed a fee of 14.5m for Yarmolenko and the BBC also say a deal "could" be done for a similar amount. Talks are taking place in Monaco, with Everton officials hoping to conclude a deal soon.

Daily Express are reporting that bid of 㾽.5 million has been accepted for Yarmolenko. I think he could be a really good signing.

Daily Express, for what it's worth, saying we have agreed a deal for Yarmalenko.

Believe it when I see it...

I see the Express is saying we've agreed on a deal for Yarmolenko.

Anyone hear anything?

James, some reporters are saying a fee has been agreed and the player (who is fussy) is yet to agree terms.

Some reports say the initial rumour was false and nothing has yet been agreed.

As they say, we will have to wait until they are holding the shirt up.

Yes please. Skilful, cracking left foot and an eye for a pass and the goal. Can see us with him and Delboy/Kev bombing down both wings. Hope this one happens.

I said the other day I saw him as potentially a square peg in a round hole. But what a square peg to have. Whether or not he fits into the team is one thing but no doubt he will shine individually. Get this done Everton.

He's tall, he has great skill and he's strong. My concern is he's too slow for the Premier League.

It would be a massive statement of intent by us if we can pull this one off. Who knows, it may even convince John Stones, if he does have any doubts, that we mean to build a winning squad, one he should be proud to be a part of. Yarmolenko is a superb player, and would give us real attacking venom. Praying to the transfer fairy that we get this deal done, and quickly.
Chris Wilson
19 Posted 20/08/2015 at 06:36:13
I think the key word you say, Brian Porter is "quickly". I just don't want this to turn into some drawn out saga that drags on and on, and we're forced to bail on the deal as Dynamo Kiev becomes more difficult to negotiate with as the transfer window closes. Hey, that scenario sounds awfully familiar.

Would be great to get him in time to at least introduce him to Evertonians before the Man City game.

On the Stones thread, everyone calls the journos 'hacks' who make up stories but on a thread about someone we might buy, it could be a genuine story???

Anything that is written in these papers is a load of crap made up to keep the writer in a job. Don't believe a word until the guy is holding the shirt. The article even states that the information was taken from a fake BT sport account.

Now this is a move that does excite.

Just make it happen Blues!

He's not slow, he's a football brain and that's something our midfield really needs out there.

Were Eric Cantona or Teddy Sheringham fast players??
No but their football brain was forever working.

I actually believe Bilyaletdinov was a wasted talent here, every time the lad played in his natural preferred position just behind the striker for the Russia team he prospered, for a guy with such a sweet left foot and rocket shot I believe we denied ourselves a privilege by shuffling him out wide left.

Last I heard from a mate who hears bits and bats and is really good for his info is that we've been in talks for the past few days with Yarmolenko and the player is really keen to join but it's going to be a tough negotiation with the Kiev president as he wants good money for his key man, regardless of the fact the player wants to leave and as made it known to the president and made it clear publicly and also with him only having a year left on his current deal!

The lad doesn't want to stay at Kiev. He's told the president that also. He thinks he's at the age now where he's ready to test himself in a top league in Europe and his preference is the Premier League. He's that eager to come to the Premier League that he was more than willing to join Stoke when they turned to him when they initially were knocked back by Shaqiri but the Kiev president didn't think Stoke were a big enough club for him and knocked their bid back!

I'd like to think the Kiev president does think we're a big enough club for him but what I'm hearing mainly is negotiating the fee for him is the stumbling block for us atm. Apparently contract terms between us and Yarmolenko have been agreed.

Hopefully we can get this one over the line as he would add some much needed quality to our side in the final third! The lad as pace, can beat a man, see a pass and as goals in him and can potentially be a game changer for us.

So let's see how this one unfolds in next week or so?!

Petet Henry
28 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:16:45
Surely we have enough money to cover this deal and the CB. Even then, we might get to 18th in the Premier League spending table... another reason to apply pressure on the Board; Kenwright is an easy target but Woods and Sly's mate Earl also should be held accountable.
Brian Porter
29 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:17:40
Chris Wilson (#14). Exactly, my friend. We must move fast and do the deal before other teams jump on the bandwagon and muddy the waters. Our people need to sit down with him and his club rep, agent, whoever, thrash out a deal both parties can live with, and get him signed. It can be done if both sides enter the room determined to sort it out.

I've heard he is quite a knowledgeable guy as well, so hopefully he will have done his homework and knows Everton are the fourth most successful club in England, despite our recent lean years, and Roberto needs to turn on his obvious charm and get the man to buy into his philosophy for the future.

If our esteemed manager can do it with Kevin Mirallas, who everyone believed would be on his bike in this window, and similarly with McCarthy, then as long as the fee isn't a problem, and it's all down to personal terms and RM has been given some latitude in that area, I'm hopeful our crafty Catalan can swing it for us.

Come on, Roberto, do us proud, and go out all guns blazing to sign possibly the best player we've had a chance of for years!

Hope this comes off, as mentioned earlier , he tore us a new arsehole. I did read a blog that Tottenham are very worried we got this deal over the line and I wouldn't be surprised if, when a fee is agreed, they try to stump us... let's hope not.

31 Posted 20/08/2015 at 08:37:41
Ste, I read somewhere during the week that Spurs are trying to put money aside for their new stadium. It would explain why they have been so quiet in this transfer window. They have been offloading a lot of players but none have come in.

I am only assuming that they were hoping to squeeze every last penny out of players like Lennon, who seems to be valued at £9M. They would probably be looking to get an awful lot of cash in through player sales before looking to spend £15M on one player.

Overall, most other clubs in our bracket seem to have already spent their cash this window. Maybe there was a plan after all to wait and see what talent was left out there after other clubs had spent their budgets. Avoids getting into a battle for players.

Everton concluding transfer deals quickly? That just doesn't happen. Their medicals take about a month to complete. Great player and one which we very much need. I think he'll leave Kiev but it sadly won't be for Everton.
Ste Wallace
34 Posted 20/08/2015 at 09:06:44
Kunal, what makes you think it won't be Everton?? If the guy was more than willing to join Stoke then I don't think joining us would be a worse option. A great player, I would personally get this over the line then say oh what about erm Dragovic... here's hoping.

I would love for this deal to go through. It's a bit of a gamble, but one worth taking. If he flops, we could sell him for a decent amount, I would think.
Harold Matthews
42 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:03:04
Terrific player but where would he operate. His favourite spot is getting a bit crowded.

Can't believe the brilliant Florian Thauvin is going to Newcastle for £13M.

Erik Dols
43 Posted 20/08/2015 at 10:11:56
Harold, what is his favourite spot exactly? On the right? We indeed have Delofeu and Mirallas. On the other hand, Mirallas can play as the second striker, has played there before. And what I can find on the internet, Yarmolenko can play at both wings and as second striker as well.

I would like to see us sign at least one attacking player and Yarmolenko is quite the talent. It is a bit of a gamble seeing that most Ukranians/Russians flop in the premier league. But a gamble I'd like to take. The lad has sheer class.

If we don't sell anyone and add Yarmolenko and Mori, I think we actually had a good transfer window. But that's a big if.

He is a very good player and on that basis I think we would do well signing him. I know he is another winger when we already have a few but then he can play on either wing or as a second striker (is he the mythical new No 10 we were promised?) so gives us a quality option when we have injuries / loss of form.

I would love us to sign Yarmolenko. Great player and reviewing a YouTube vid reminded me of how much he ripped the piss out of us last season.

Other than Kagawa and Podolski earlier this season, I haven't been this excited about a potential transfer since we entered the loan-race for Big Rom two years ago.

Dave Pritchard
49 Posted 20/08/2015 at 13:02:45

This signing (provided it happens and nobody leaves) could transform us from looking like certain also-rans, to genuine contenders for top 4.

With his attributes, he can play left, right, or central. Great set-pieces and an eye for a goal - spectacular ones at that. Also, top assists in Europa league last season.

He's been the golden boy of Ukrainian footy for a while now. He's bagged a few player of the year awards as well, up against boys like Willian, Luiz Adriano, Douglas Costa, Srna, Fernandinho, etc.

Love this to happen, and hopefully he is the reason that we weren't too serious with our approach for Shaqiri.

Dave/Andy

The issues with the Stones' stories is that they are fabricating stories to unsettle the player, as if Mourinho had them attached to strings.

Stories like the player has agreed terms with Stones, the player wants to go, and Everton are just holding out for £32m blah blah blah.

Yarmolenko has a year left and has stated his intention to leave. Stones has 4 left, has kept a dignified silence, other than to state how happy he is at Everton and looking forward to a good season.

Completely different in my opinion.

Would love to see it happen....but NEVER will. Dealing with the region is just too difficult and I think he has 3rd party ownership which just fucks it up even more.

Also the top bod there stated he will only let him go to a top club...well they twatted us so I don't think he will see us as a bigger club. Would love it to happen, really would, but it won't... get ready for Lennon and injury prone Evans on deadline day and that's it.

Video now of Phil Kirkbride explaining that EFC are willing to meet Yarmolenko's buyout fee of €20M, and that club officials have travelled to Monaco to begin to thrash out a deal.

Also says that Ukranian clubs are notoriously hard to negotiate with so they will drive a hard bargain, but the signs are looking good. He thinks that any deal will probably take up until the deadline to get over the line, so don't expect a swift conclusion. Never straightforward with Everton is it!

If we get Yarmolenko, and for the record I think it would be a brilliant signing, surely that will mean the end is nigh for McGeady, or even perhaps Pienaar?

I just can't see how much game time either would get if they have to compete with Deulofeu, Miralles, Osman, Cleverley, Kone, Barkley, and possibly Yarmolenko, that's a lot of players to pick from for the three forward positions behind Lukaku. And I haven't even started counting the up-and-coming young 'uns like Dowell, etc.

@Craig (70) - Yeah, you'd have to think so. I would imagine a farewell to McGeady - not that I'm going to shed many tears over that.

I do find it funny that even when we are heavily linked with someone left footed, it's still a right sided winger/forward whatever. That's Deulofeu, Mirallas and Yarmolenko who would a) all be among our top players and b) all right sided midfielders.

Petet Henry

Rumour has it the main problem is the installment amounts for the fee. We obviously want to pay it over 20 years while Kiev would like the bulk over two.

Same old story if true.

Like Dave Chait (57) I too have I taken a look at YouTube and the defences were BLOODY AWFUL in most of his goals. With Krøldrup, Bilyaletdinov was by miles our most mystifying, disappointing, expensive signing (even including that work-shy thug Ferguson) so I just hope that we, for once, have done "due diligence" before parting with most of our transfer kitty for yonks to come.

Kelvin, your dream lineup would be suicidal. I want them all in the same squad, but not the same team. Not unless we're chasing the game with 10 mins to go.

Getting a bit ahead of ourselves. Really hope we get him... but not confident.

Genuine class player and would certainly improve the team. I do have to wonder though if he was actually a long term target or is being looked at because he's one of the few class midfielders (we could afford) still left available?

Given we have about 10 senior midfielders and have signed Deulofeu and given Mirallas a new contract and seem to now be fixed on Ross playing in the 10 role and presumably will continue to use Kone as one of the AMs.......can't imagine Yamolenko was on the radar a few weeks back.

Wonder if the little plane above St Marys had anything to do with speeding up the 'intent' to which we're looking at him.

Apologies for being cynical but the guy would obviously be one of our best players if we got him (which is still far from certain). However, IF we do sign him I do wonder that that means for a few of our other midfielders. By all means sign class players if the opportunity arises but we still don't really have a back up for Lukaku or Coleman and are still painfully thin at CB.

Hopefully not the only movement before the window shuts......

if I hadn't watched him destroy us last season then I'd say he looks no more than slightly above average from his YouTube clips. I'm always wary of show reels that have to show the same goal 3 times to fill out a 2 min video (and countless outrageous bits of skill with no end result). One of his 'highlights' is a great one-two that he then puts wide.

We know he has a great left foot and would undoubtedly be a great addition but I wouldn't be so sure that he'll be the big step up that some are imagining. Song would be a safer bet and probably cheaper. Proven in the EPL, unsung hero for WHU last season and a number of quite brilliant assists in his last season at Arsenal before he went to Barca.

James Marshall

If we do buy him, we're going to have some serious midfield options this season, which would also mean the ability to play numerous formations as well - if El Bob actually going to be the new tinkerman, or is his masterplan starting to come to fruition?

I'm as pessimistic as a lot of people appear to be about this deal, but if (IF) it comes off.....and the Mori deal (if he's any good)......and maybe a striker.....if we can get one...

That was a lot of 'ifs'...

I know Roberto mentioned it but I'm not sure we need another striker, James. Between Lukaku, a rejuvanated Kone, Naismith, McAleny, and Miralles who can play just off a main striker, we have options. If we get him (touch wood) Yarmalenko can also play behind a striker, or so I've read.

Defence I'm more worried about. Behind Jags and Stones, we have only the kids, Browning, Holgate and Galloway. With Hibbo's injuries at RB I'm inclined to think Browning may be first-choice back-up to Coleman too.

He sure has a knack for finding the far post with his left foot, but... does he have a right foot too? I have’t seen too much of him, but I worry how he’ll adapt to the higher quality of the Premier League if he’s too one-dimensional. 㾻 million is no small transfer for us -- if I had a say, I think I’d prefer a true playmaking No 10 for that sum.

I keep on hoping it comes about and then we keep hold of JS. If so, together with the Argie centre back, then extremely well done Roberto, well done.

I see The Sun today back page leads with the liner "John Stones will hand in a transfer request to force through a move to Chelsea..." Haven't they already crossed the line and moreso with this approach? Surely this has to be illegal to some extent, making inflammatory confirmations at a personal level which could arguably undermine the employee / employer contract agreement that exists?

Why were there never any newspaper reports that attempted to undermine Liverpool during the Sterling transfer I wonder...?

Brian Williams
124 Posted 21/08/2015 at 06:42:57
Zachary. With regard to how he'll adapt. He certainly didn't need to adapt to absolutely destroy us now did he?

No matter that it wasn't in the Premier League – he showed just how good he is, end of.

Hugh Jenkins
125 Posted 21/08/2015 at 07:38:35
William (105) The reason is that the journalists in question are primarily RS supporters to a man. They would not see Sterling moving to Man City as being an improvement, whereas they do see Stones to Chelsea as such.

They have not yet come to terms with the fact that in the current iteration of the EPL, Liverpool have become an irrelevance and under their present management will continue to be mediocre performers hovering around the mid-table places between 10th and 5th – much like us over the past ten year – for different reasons.

However, I do believe we are now "building for the future" and we have a very promising crop of young talent coming through the ranks. If we can supplement these with the occasional "class" addition, like Yarmolenko, I think the future looks very bright.

That is why, as all costs, we must keep hold of Stones and build around him, Lukaku, Barkley, Browning, Galloway, Garbutt, Deulofeu, Besic, McCarthy, Cleverly et al.

I am not certain, but I think that, apart from Cleverly and possibly McCarthy, none of the others have yet turned 22 years old. What a great foundation for the future!

Gavin #101 - Re:- Lennon.

I think we will (hope we do) still go for him but only on loan. My reasoning behind that is that if RM really wanted him he would be at the club now. Maybe Martinez is waiting until Spurs are desperate to get him of the wage bill which will mean a deadline day loan. That's my guess.

I know he's only got one year left on his contract but Spurs don't want him and unless someone comes in (Villa) with a concrete offer I think a loan deal could be done for a nominal fee and no wages for Spurs to pay for the last year of his contract. Makes sense on paper but you never know. He's better than McGeady so that deal gets my vote.

A combination of Yarmolenko (?), Mirallas, Barkley and Deulofeu will most probably be our best attacking options but with Lennon as well I think the strength in depth would be more notable than it has been in the past.

This, if it comes to pass, it would certainly quell my annoyance over the Shaqiri loss. And if the plane at Southampton played a part (unlikely though that seems to me), then well done the plane guys.

BUT... if it's to placate Evertonian wrath in the wake of a Stones transfer, then it still means as much – if not more – than ever that Kenwright and his crew must go.

Thomas Surgenor
131 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:41:23
From what limited amount of him I've seen, he is a left footed player who likes to cut inside but is also capable of playing on the left.

He also was the best player on the park against us.

What worries me though, is that this name is always branded about yet no one has ever followed through on their interest.
Milan, Roma, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs... to name but a few; have all expressed interest in the past but never felt the need to follow it up.

To me that suggests that;
a) there are issues with the boy
b) he might not be cut out for the league
c) his agent is a mouth who flaunts him to every club (through the media) in the land trying to get him a deal.

I'm very pessimistic about anything coming from these rumours.
I would love us to sign a recognised name and talent such as he but I just can't see this one coming off. I think we might even be too big a move for him.

Darren, do you think Lennon, would rejoin Everton, on loan? I don't. I think if he comes to Everton, it will be a permenant transfer.

Got to agree with you Jay, and the worry is exactly what you say. Stones going after handing in a transfer request would be a total farce, to me. If this was the case, then surely he would have handed in a request as soon as Chelsea come calling.

Imagine Mouriniho during his first training session shouting "why didn't you put in a transfer request when we bid £20 Million for you, you fucking daft twat".

135 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:52:52
Looking at his highlights and the game against us, he is obviously very skillful. Also very left footed, although he put in a few crosses with his right, but really seems to like playing on the right and drifting in for a curling shot to the far post. Wonder how he'd go in the centre or on the left?
Danny Halsall
136 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:54:08
Thomas, I think he reason that Yarmolenko hasn't gone to one of the clubs that you have mentioned is because of the Kiev owners. Igor Surkis, has publicly stated that he would have no intention of selling Yarmolenko unless it was to a top club, which I believe Everton are.

I think the reason that we are making headway on signing him now is because he is in the last year of his contract and they are worried he will walk for nothing next summer. I know there are rumours he has a release clause, but these Eastern European teams are notoriously hard to deal with and I would guess there is something in Yarmolenko's contract that has made it easy for the Kiev owners to keep him there in previous seasons. I personally reckon that we have come in for him at the right time.

In terms of a lack of interest from other teams, I think that is down to their spending already, coupled with the types of players they actually need. Take Chelsea for example: they have spent on Pedro already and they also have Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Cuadrado, Moses and even possibly Remy who can operate in all of the attacking midfield roles. We NEED a player like Yarmolenko, which is the difference.

Andrew Ellams
137 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:54:14
Tony, maybe Everton agreed with Stones that they would push the fee as high as possible before he handed in any sort of request. Still don't see it happening though.
Chris Leyland
138 Posted 21/08/2015 at 09:55:49
Tony Abrahams - why would Stones have handed in a transfer request as soon as Chelsea came calling?

A transfer request is a last resort for a player and an agent due to the way that a contract is structured and the contractual penalties that would be incurred for handing in a transfer. Therefore an agent would be advising his player not to do it unless they absolutely have to.

If the player really wants to go, then the agent would be advising them to sit tight and see if the clubs can agree a fee or not. If the selling club are asking too much or don't want to sell and the transfer deadline is approaching, should the player want to leave, then and only then would the advice be to hand in a transfer request to try and force the hand of the selling club.

I don't mind if the big Yarmolenko can only shoot left or across the keeper. He shoots early, moves the ball quickly and isn't afraid to go toe to toe with the opposition.

Last season we looked scared and appeared to turn away from every tight situation. This guy could be the key to unlock strong defences. I think he'd be a quality addition. COYB

Phil Walling (#129),

Mirallas and Deulofeu are not going to be fit for every match this season, will have dips in form, will need rest, will get bans. It's all about the squad nowadays and I would be happy if we managed to get Yarmalenko AND Lennon.

Signing Yarmalenko is in no way a slight on Gerard. Four first-team capable wide men is a must for any team that wants to challenge for trophies. Yarmalenko can also play in the AMC position giving us cover /competition for Barkley and Naismith.

Greg Mckerracher

Phil 129, I'm not sure Del boy was seen as a wonder signing. An exciting and good value deal but everyone knows he's not the finished article. Unlike Yarmolenko.

The Ukranian may take some time to adapt but he scores and creates goals at quite some rate. There's no sure bets but I reckon he would become a firm favourite and could even put us back into top 4 contention. He has something we have lacked since Pienaar's demise and Arteta's leaving which is an intelligence and awareness to unlock tight defences. He could be our Silva/Coutinho/Mata type player. Fingers crossed.

Schevchenko and Rebrov tore through teams until they arrived here, Bilyaletdinov never made it and to think only the one that has is Andre Kanchelskis so this is a big gamble that I pray takes off... and it may well do because he ripped us to pieces last time.

Traviata - Deulofeu
Ormskirk Rearguard - Jagielka
Durham Early - Cleverley (early signing)
Dutchman - Mirallas (Yes I know he's Belgian)
Hispi - Baines

Golden Acre Primo - McCarthy

Alan B, in all fairness to Schevchenko he arrived injured and was playing for a manager (Mourinho) who didn't want him. Mourinho was quite clear that it wasn't his decision to buy him and he didn't need him!! This was the beginning of the end for the Special One Mk I.

As for Rebrov, a similar problem at Spurs. I think he was bought by one manager who was almost immediately sacked and was then sent to Coventry by the next manager. So in both players' cases, their faces didn't fit.

Bilyaletdinov was played out of position by OFM and was crap anyway. Has he retired?

Back to Yarmolenko, it has always been suggested that this will go to the wire. These buggers are tough negotiators.

Yarmo is an absolute must. It is a signing that must happen. It's almost a signing that shouldn't be happening, because he is almost the type of player who should be signing for Juve or Roma – rejoice if we get this over the line. He will revolutionise the "golden generation" project.

My worry about Yarmolenko is that we do all the leg work establishing fees and wages, then someone swoops in like Souness did to us at Newcastle, or Redknapp when he was at Spurs. I swear Harry was hiding in the bushes at a player's house waiting for Moyes to leave before he'd swoop in, "How much are they offering — I'll double it!"

I could see Chelsea, Liverpool, etc jumping in saying thank you for paving the road for us. Or worse, Yarmolenko dubious agent making one last phone call to one of those teams and making one last pitch for a bigger payday... for himself.

And let's see Funes Mori before we render judgment. He might turn out to be "iffy", but let's give him some time. I worry this kid makes one tiny little mistake, and suddenly folks rip him apart.

Yarmolenko has just scored twice for Kiev... so how is he in talks with Everton?
Peter Bell

Kiev won 3-0, two for Veloso and Yarmalenko on 53 minutes

To quote Elvis. "A little less conversation a little more action please". Seems to be taking a long time to get a yay or nay from this guy.

Kyiv won 6-0 away from home in the cup today, our man got a hat-trick. Why was he playing?

Did anyone watch the game? Was there a goodbye wave from our man at the end?

After scoring his third goal he lifted his shirt and on his vest was written, "Once a Blue, always a Blue."

In Ukrainian, of course.

Jose wasn't on the touchline to shake his hand and welcome him to Chelski, was he?!

Is Robert still in Monaco?

He was asked a question about Everton at the end of the game in an interview and he said "I need to run" and laughed. Read into that what you will...

Phil Rodgers 159. So did I. If you can't stand the heat etc. Kind of you but I'm not Jesus

If this deal goes through ... I'll be as surprised as I was with the Lukaku announcement last season. Most Toffees are naturally pessimistic when big name transfers are mooted. I'd love to think this will happen...

But the grumpy old man in me is resigned to thinking we're more of a 'McGeady club' than a 'Yarmolenko club' when it comes to transfers. I sincerely hope to be proved wrong.

I'm resigned now to the idea we are not getting him. Anything else will be a massive surprise.

Keep well away from Twitter ... Updates every minute - all of which are complete fantasy. One twelve year old calling himself 'Thetoffeeforum.com' has the lad having "agreed personal terms" ... Utter pish.

Yes...sounds great, but surprising - a lot of money for another winger. Roberto said at the beginning of the summer his top priority was a top class No 10, a midfield playmaker, which would surely make sense given our performances last season. So, is he thinking of using Yarmolenko as his new No 10 playmaker? It could, potentially and hopefully, be a brilliant move.

Wow...I've just seen the video of him playing...dreaming of him being the next Zinedine Zidane for us!

I wouldn't read too much into Yarmolenko playing yesterday. John Stones is playing for us today....

Not going to happen now, just dragging on for too long.
Colin Glassar

In his post-match interview, he was asked why Everton and not the RS or Spurs. His laconic, one word answer was – Hibbo.

Yarmolenko is big into carp fishing and our Hibbo is First Dan or Master Jedi (or whatever they're called) when it comes to fishing for carp.

I think we are dragging this out to see if we can get Man Utd and a few others jumping in late on. That's the Everton way.

This should have been sorted last week and we should be parading him before the City game.

Get it sorted!!!

The longer we struggle/wait to tie this up, the higher the chance that someone else (bigger/richer) steps in. Especially given that he has started the season on fire!

Just checked out the video. If he scores goals like that for us then come next summer all the moneybags clubs will be on him like a rash. Martinez will spend the summer window fending off Mourinho, LVG, Pellegrini, Wenger, maybe even Brenda. Although we could double our money on him.

What was Stones this window will be much worse the next one. At the rate we are going we could be the next Southampton getting picked clean by the Sky vultures. Yarma, Stones, Barkley, Lukaku, McCarthy, Coleman, Mirallas. End up with plenty of cash but all our best players gone and our chances of making real progress along with them..

Anyone can look good on youtube, but this bloke looks the real deal.

If he comes in then and Stones stays the transfer window could be view as reasonably successful

Thanks Chad, cabbage is the best thing for breaking up ground such as gardens on first build sites etc.

Perhaps Bill @ Co should get in a batch of seeds now and start planting on Walton Park in readiness for the super turf being laid!!

According to the Mirror we've made a 㾻 million marquee signing... anyone got any idea how much I could get for my bouncy castle, hardly used?
