Tributes for former Everton Ladies player

Everton have been deeply saddened by the news that a local girl and former Everton Ladies player, Zoe Tynan, has been killed at the age of just 18.

British Transport Police have confirmed that she was hit by a train at West Allerton station last night.

Zoe, from Mossley Hill, who played for Everton Ladies U17s and Manchester City Women and recently signed for Fylde Ladies AFC, was also an England U19 international.

Tributes have flooded in from family, friends, her community and across the football world for Zoe who had just completed seven years at Calderstone's School where she recently earned "outstanding" A-level results.

“Zoe was the most loving and caring daughter and sister anyone could wish for," her family said in a statement. “She was a vibrant, generous and fun-loving girl who always knew how to cheer anyone up, and was a loyal, straight-talking friend to many.

“She was a dedicated athlete, never happier than when she had a ball at her feet and was the ultimate team player. She touched so many people's lives and will never be forgotten.”

Just as it seemed she had the world at her feet. Potential opportunities in football. Great exam results. Such sad news.

Jay Woods, I think that is a pure Northern Ireland post. I don't know if you are from here, but I found those three words just right and sad.

In Riga Jay, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe? If so, lucky you, mind those Ruskis.

So sorry I also did mean to add my deepest condolences to Zoe's family and friends. Horrible, horrible news. Some reports are saying that Zoe took her own life and, if so, I find this shattering.
