Everton confirm FC Twente friendly

Everton will take on the Dutch Eredivisie side on Wednesday 19th July with a kick-off of 6pm BST (7pm local time).

The confirmation comes in the wake of the cancellation of a proposed game against FC Groningen after the club failed to agree terms with the Dutch town's mayor to stage the game.

The proposed friendly against FC Zwolle, meanwhile, has yet to be confirmed.

Not a bad warm up for the Europa League. Think we're in the 3rd qualifying round which is played on 27th July, 2nd leg a week later.

We don't actually start the season off that early, only 2 weeks before the Premier League kicks off.

Twente are decent opposition, on a par with a top-10 Premier League side. Think they missed out on the Europa League through the Eredivisie playoffs so a good side to play in preseason.
