Favourites aren't always the best — Update
By Nicki McFarlane 18/02/2018
Hello all, this is John's daughter Nicki. My dad was admitted into hospital on Thursday and is still in. We are hoping for him to be home very soon with his family.
He wanted to let you all know that he will be submitting his 11th article in his "Favourites aren't always the best" series once he's back home and well.
We hope this won't be too long! COYB

Nicki, thank you for posting this message, I'm sure I am not the only one who has been anxious by John's silence on here over the last few days.
Tell him there is no hiding place. We shall seek him out to extract the name of that number 11! Seriously, very best wishes to your Dad for a speedy recovery, we look forward to him resuming his contributions whenever he is ready.

Having John missing in action on ToffeeWeb is like losing a top player like Seamus Coleman through injury irreplaceable.
Hope you get well soon, John.

Get well soon John.
The Number 11? Surely Dave Thomas? Even though I was a Street End regular, my memories are misted with alcohol consumption (at that time, not now!), but he could dribble, pass and cross with either foot equally well, and often did so in full flight.
He didn't piss about by going back and beating his full back opponent over and over again; he sent in the cross perfectly for (usually I think) Big Bob Latch to nod it in.
If it's not him then it's got to be someone really really really great. Can't wait to find out.
Oh, and will there be a No 12?
