Yesterday, 7 June, the powers that be at Uefa fined Besiktas €30,000 (£22,000) for a cat — yes, a cat! – running onto the field of play during their Champions League game vs Bayern Munich.

The same people fined the Russian Football Federation approximately €8,000 less for racist chants by their fans when they played France!

How can anyone, I ask, take this bunch of idiots seriously and trust them to look after and run our game properly???

And our loveable neighbours got fined, what was it, about 㿁k for the stoning of Man City's coach. A cat is clearly much more dangerous.

Ah, but that doesn't count, Paul.

You have just given me an idea!

Let's put a black cat on the pitch at Anfield... If it doesn't bring bad luck, at least they will get fined.

I couldn't believe that RS fine. How is such behaviour outside a ground any less reprehensible than if coming from the stands during a game? If the latter the penalty would surely have been much more severe and even warranting a ground closure for any next Champions League fixture?

There seems to be sense or reasoning behind the scale of the fines imposed

Like I said, idiots the lot of them! 🃏
