I was in the back of a taxi last year and the driver started chatting to me about football and told me he was previously a minor scout at Crystal Palace (which could have well-been bullshit as I've had another driver tell me he was mates with Seamus Coleman). Either way, he said Lookman was a standout player whenever he saw him play and Palace along with lots of other clubs were scouting him before and after he joined Charlton.It will be a real disappointment if he doesn't come back and play for us next season in my view. He's had a handful of good cameo appearances over there – Leipzig never played him for a full match – but it would be easy to see him as some kind of saviour.I'm hopeful that he's learned a lot in Germany, and that a decent coach (like Silva) can complete his education and turn him from a prospect to a contender.
