The Premier League is changing and Everton too followed the lead and appointed Roberto Martinez to replace David Moyes in 2013 and who looked at one stage as though he could have been a success. Ronald Koeman was a failed experiment despite Everton spending more than United in the summer of 2017/18. But things are looking rosier ahead of the new season. Marco Silva has been appointed Everton manager, who in his short period in England has showcased the courage to play attractive and attacking football, and how he managed to do that with Hull City and Watford speaks for itself.

The manager will be fielding an attacking 4-3-3 in the coming season so a lot of thrilling football is expected. The first thing you want to do is make sure that the site you use to place bets is trustworthy. The days of real-world bookies is over but however much that works to the benefit of punters, the world wide web is a much less certain place. The way to spot a good, reliable and, most importantly, trustworthy online betting site requires a bit of research and a bit of common sense. There are loads of portals like the one above to make it easier for you, as they tend to list only the most reputable sites. Still, if you're looking on your own, make sure that the site has secure payment options, good user-reviews, 24/7 helplines and that it doesn't promise anything too good to be true.

Back to football betting, in particular, it's a great idea to get started with a site that offers some substantial free-bet promotions so you can get to grips with how football betting works, such as those that William Hill offers. It's not too hard and the great thing is that football betting is more about knowing the game, knowing the teams and knowing the teams than it is about blind luck. Still, you might want to do some research on how to bet, how spreads work and the different ways to bet on a football match and free offers are a great start to this.

Let's go over a few things you didn't know about our new manager!

Playing Career

His professional career started at the age of 19 with Belenenses, albeit he played only once for the club and then, moved to Atletico CP in Lisbon. He played for half a dozen clubs before settling at Estoril where he spent 6 years. He also managed the club for three years after his retirement. The fact that he himself played as a right-back might have something to do with his attempts to sign Barcelona full back Lucas Digne. He has first-hand experience of the position and understands really well how important it is to have a modern full-back who can attack down the wings.

Record Breaker

Marco Silva has previously demonstrated that he is capable of explaining his methods to his players in quick time. He has done it in Hull City and Watford. But the most impressive of his stint was with Olympiacos in 2015-16. His team won a massive 17 opening games on the bounce on their way to clinching the title. That year Olympiacos won the title by a record-shattering 30 points lead on second placed Panathinaikos. They scored a thrilling 81 goals at a rate of 2.7 per match. The recent signing of the Brazilian forward Richarlison and him courting Digne signals that the manager wants to bring that attacking panache to Everton too.

Boardroom to Dugout

He didn't straightaway get into managing after retiring at Estoril. Initially, he assumed a boardroom position as Estoril's director of football. However, Estoril started the season badly, losing the first five matches, so the club thought it best to hand over the reigns to Silva.

Silva had no experience of managing a football club but still accepted the challenge, a testament to his bold and confident nature. He immediately proved his credence to manage a club with Estoril winning 12 and drawing three in his first 16 matches.
