Everton Under-18s underlined their storming start to the season with a six-goal hammering of Blackburn Rovers, four goals coming from Ellis Simms, who also missed a penalty but has scored in every match so far!

The other goals were scored by Mackenzie Hunt and Korede Adedoyin. Their 4th win in as many games consolidates a perfect start to the season for Paul Tait's youngsters, who are the early leaders in the U18 Premier League (North):

The U18s beat Blackburn U18s (6-0) yesterday with Simms scoring four. This keeps Everton U18s well ahead in their league.

Fantastic stuff from the youngsters, Dave. Really hard to keep track of these games, however. This was down for last Saturday on the official website; No mention, no report. (I haven't checked the videos.)

Some info occasionally on Twatter, some guy with the annoying tag "@EvertonYouth" — who is nothing to do with Everton and only sporadically covers the games.

Still, I'm tracking what I can here on our U18s ToffeeWeb Page.

How about this Ellis Simms lad, Steve?

His record so far reads 8 goals in 4 games.

I like it!

I'll have to check the goals and see a bit more about the lad. Anyone in midfield look good?

Ellis Simms looks a big lad with a decent burst of pace too. Similar to Fraser Hornby at youth level.

Both youth teams doing well.

I got the information off another Everton website which also states that the young lad, Ellis Simms, had trials with Oldham and Man City before he landed at our feet. Don't let him escape!!!

Good to see all teams starting positively, even though the first team should be on more points than it is!

Well done though to the U18 and U23 sides.

The goals are on Everton Academy Twitter feed. Simms looks like a proper centre-forward – big, fast, strong, good sense of positioning and can finish with both feet. If Victor asks, just tell him we paid £10 mill for him from Man City.

Good to see Simms trying to make a name for himself.

Michael Branch scored a ton when he was in the academy. Just saying.

Too early to tell if someone is going to make it. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't end up well.

Jose Baxter, Nick Chadwick, John-Paul Kissock, Ryan Ledson, George Green, Michael Branch, just to name a few. All big-time prospects ended up being big disappointments.
