Everton U18s will play Sunderland in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup at Goodison Park next Saturday.
The date has been confirmed by Sunderland, with the kick-off set for 2 pm, Saturday 1 December (although the Everton website still says 15 December).
It's now over 20 years since Everton last won the FA Youth Cup, despite their reputation as one of the leading Development Academies in English professional football.
The U18 side who will contest the fixture are currently without question the best team in the land at that level, despite registering their first defeat of the season to local rivals Liverpool three weeks ago.
But they reacted brilliantly to that minor setback the following weekend by hammering TEN goals past West Brom at Finch Farm in their second Group D match of the U18 Premier League Cup.
And coincidentally, they take on Sunderland this weekend in the U18 Premier League when they travel to The Academy of Light on Saturday.
