Everton add ex-Bolton player to scouting network

Gretar Steinsson has been appointed by Marcel Brands as Everton's new Chief European Scout.

The former Bolton Wanderers player leaves a director of football role at Fleetwood Town to take up the position with the Blues.

Steinsson was signed for AZ Alkmaar in 2006 by Brands so the pair are well acquainted.

Martin Glover has been named Chief UK scout.

As an aside, has anyone reading ever recommended a player to Everton (or any other club for that matter) and what sort of reception/reaction did you get? After all, we've had youngsters from as far away as USA and Australia going as far back as Dennis Yeager and, I believe, Charlie Perkins.

Well, they were hardly household names so maybe we should keep our day jobs and leave it to the Dutch master, Marcel. I doubt there's many gems on this planet unheard of before a greasy palmed agent swoops!
