Brighton next up in FA Youth Cup

Everton U18s now know they will face Brighton & Hove Albion in the 5th Round of this season's FA Youth Cup.

The south coast team defeated Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford on Monday evening. This sets up a home encounter for the Blues at Goodison Park in a tie that must be played by 9 February.

Everton are in the 5th Round thanks to three fine saves by Jaoa Virginia Harry Tryer in the penalty shoot-out at Stoke City. Brighton needed penalties to scrape through at West Ham before their Old Trafford victory over the side that had finally dumped Chelsea out of the competition.

Chelsea had won the FA Youth Cup every season for the past 5 years, but they lost 4-3 to Manchester United at Old Trafford back in December.

Everton are looking to secure a place in the last 8 for the first time since 2014.

Think you will find it was Harry Tyrer in goal who made the 3 penalty saves Michael.

Our best chance of a trophy this season? I hope Simms and Co can go all the way.
